Posted May 1, 200619 yr Admin I know a few of you are anti-RF, but I love the old stuff and always will. Below is a killer SQ RF set up I would love to have in my explorer. Found it on the RF forum.equipment list:2x Rockford 0.5farad Capacitors1x Rockford 160.2 (With 100z2 internals)1x Rockford Punch 100z2 (With 160.2 internals)1x Rockford Punch 600a41x Rockford Punch 800a21x Rockford Punch Power 50m1x Rockford Symmetry EPX5x Rockford Audiophile Tweeters (2 Pictured)2x Rockford Punch 3" Midrange (SP-34)2x Rockford Audiophile 4" Midrange (RFA-44)4x Rockford Audiophile 5" Midrange (RFA-54)2x Rockford Audiophile 6" Midrange (RFA-64)2x Rockford Audiophile 10" Subwoofers (RFA-810)
May 1, 200619 yr I like the even older stuff better. Those subs look like Series 1 stuff, which I just threw a couple of out--they came with the M mounted IB with a 30x2 Alpine amp and stock stereo. The guy I bought the car from said it had a "wicked" stereo LOL. Too many drivers for my tastes as well, but cool collection of old skool goodies though.
May 1, 200619 yr I'm with jimbo too many speakers. And I want the original audiophiles that were in black and white. just like the comps he has. They had a cleaner sound to me. I'm working on a sort of old school grab bag assortment myself
May 1, 200619 yr Not really, best buy sold the "A" series amps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>lol, fine, before they hit the box stores up North
May 1, 200619 yr Author Admin I would like to find a 360a2 and 500a2 and 800a2 to add to my little collection.Maybe a 225.2 or 100z1 or possibly a power 50.1, maybe a 1001bd would be fun too. Those are just my favorite RF amps.
May 1, 200619 yr Author Admin I have always wanted a 360a6 but then I fell in love with the Zapco AG 650, so not sure which of the two I would love to use for a single amp system.
May 2, 200619 yr The old black case original power 1000 would be my one amp choice for a system. 250w x 4 4ohm @12v 250w a side for a passive 2 or 3 way. 500w for sub(s). You got me kicking myself
May 2, 200619 yr that's a nice old collection....i have a pwoer 800.2...not a 800a2...but the old skool rf stuff did indeed rock!!ramos.. of your old skool collection...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
May 2, 200619 yr Author Admin i'd still run a gang of the chrome @ series ampsgood luck finding them though there are a few on ebay every once in a while, if I had the time and the polish I would love to buff the crap out of my two amps and get them shining someone a side note, I am in need of 4 of the end cap screws, Ramos is looking, but we have not found the right ones yet
May 2, 200619 yr I know where several of the chrome a's are. But I ain't paying what he wants for them
May 2, 200619 yr that's a nice old collection....i have a pwoer 800.2...not a 800a2...but the old skool rf stuff did indeed rock!!ramos.. of your old skool collection...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If your real nice I might go digging in the garage I don't have the power 1000 anymore. Some crackhead stole it I got a 200a4,800a4,original punch 45, a couple of others with dead channels and stuff. Got a newer bd1000 the first year they switched the heat sinks from the A models. Wanting to get the bd1000 with the a style sinks. Got ideas for a nice active 3 way front stage with a little idea for upfront bass
May 2, 200619 yr Author Admin You old tymers and your power hungry super hot amps.... I lost out on a 360a6 a few years ago, I wanted to run it active for the fronts and rear mids, and have a power 800a2 to run the sub
May 2, 200619 yr one a side note, I am in need of 4 of the end cap screws, Ramos is looking, but we have not found the right ones yetThey're nothing more than a black oxide socket screw in a 6-32 thread. I may have some left over in my tool box somewhere, but I'll have to search.
May 2, 200619 yr I've got an 800a4 in my car right now. that amp is insane, it will bottom out my he2 off of just one channel if im not carfull with the gains.
May 3, 200619 yr THey are aren't they My 800.4 was benched at 164w a channel at 4ohm. It's rated 100w a channel at 4ohm
May 3, 200619 yr Author Admin I remmeber seeing birth sheets on the Power 1000a2 near 1400 watts. But I can't remember if I have seen a Power 1000bd, same heat sink. I would prefer the A/B amplifer, but wonder which is putting out more power.
May 3, 200619 yr From what I have seen they are pretty close number wise. I like the efficiency of the bd with my little 90 amp alt
