Why are you wiring 7 of them in series?   Is that what they normally do for car audio?  I figured you would just do sets of 6...  Not sure how good that 2.5V rating is I guess...

I'm trying to achieve 17.5v. I'll lose some capacity but with the number of banks I have, i'd rather have the higher voltage.

  • Author

Yeah I figured that is why, you think you'll be above 15V charging?

I'll be externally regulated alts charging at 18v.

Maxwell claims 10% over-charging is the limit. So really I could charge each bank to 19v with somewhat safe conditions. I only to push it to 18v.

This will be an extremely competitive class. At the same time, it's all new rules and power restrictions. Nobody really knows what the scores will be. I'll be looking to use all available power to win at finals.

The bedliner looks purdy! :D

Haha. Looks better anyway. Not bad for the money put into it. It's gonna get a bed cover at some point. Just wanted to co we the nasty paint and rust before I installed anything.

Nice turn out Sir ...

2 cans of crap and 10 minutes. Still need to do bed rails and tailgate. I have 1 can left, so I guess it will a $15 job when done.

oooh, i just sold a 97 reg cab s10 i was going to ls swap, but ended selling it to a friend. Looks like a fun project though!

this is likely a 5.3 swap recipient in the future.

If you go the 5.3 route let me know, I'll get you a copy of my alt bracket. :)

Hugo, you think it would work on my 4.3? I can only add 1 more alt. See pic.

Can you paint over it once it is completely dried and cured ???

I'm considering doing this (or something similar) to the lower rocker pannels on my truck ... then repainting to match ...

Any opinions on color? I wanted to wrap it but now I think I just want to do a cheaper rattle can job. Something satin. Nothing glossy.

Just not sure what color.

  • Author

I love satin blue. Hence the Camaro color.

I agree, satin blue or silver would look good.

How about this? Plastidip aluminum.

Its that vinyl wrap like they use on race cars?

I've looked at the 4.3 in depth. I would remake the whole braket. It would be pretty nutty, but thats the only way i see it being done. I dont really see where an add on braket could be placed. Lemme look some more. :)
