Posted March 20, 200421 yr Was just wondering how a single 15" D2 will handle 1500 watts of power? Is it too much for the driver, or will it handle it perfectly and pound to my heart's content? Thanks
March 20, 200421 yr It's up to you how much power you put on it. We do not cover burnt coils. We do, however, have a lot of people who are throwing 1200 watts to 12's without any problem. 1500 on a 15 should be just fine, even though you really don't need that much. Just be respectful.
March 21, 200421 yr so will it be ok, cuz i have a guy looking for a 15 and he has 1500w to play with.at first i was thinking about the sx from RE but they cant handle that much power for daily. so i might try and see to get him a 15magnum just dont know yet.jamie
March 21, 200421 yr Admin I like that amp alot, and I tihnk if your sending a clean signal and easing back on the gains the D2 should be ok, I have yet to read anything about complaints about the durability of the sub what so ever, I trust Nick and the guys

March 21, 200421 yr I am going to edit our subwoofer web pages to include a link to an explanation of our power handling ratings. If we were to follow traditional "car audio" power handling ratings our subs would be rated around 900 for the 12 and 1000 for the 15. But we choose to stay with the home hi-fi ALMA-style ratings.
March 22, 200421 yr I agree that the amp would be fine. I think a 2000w amp would be fine, because you could turn down the gain. Might sound better, because you wouldn't have to turn up the gain as much as a lower power amp? what ya think?
