Posted May 1, 201411 yr I don't have to tools required to build a box. I'm looking around on eBay for a decent box for the HDS310 and the best thing I can really find is this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390824040731&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 I messaged the seller, he said it's tuned @ 36hz. It's stated it's 1.5cf and made with 3/4 MDF. On the "Box Sizes and Tuning" page, it states 1.25cf or 1.5 for the 10. Would this box be fine? I'm not sure on the port length/width.
May 1, 201411 yr do some math, 15.75 x 13 x 15.75 = 1.87 cu ft. so there's no way this enclosure is 1.5 cu ft net. I think you have a couple options. either find a box built to spec online (ssa store might have one for sale) or get a design and find a builder local. I would get a design from someone reputable and not rely on a car audio shop. Alternatively, if you can't find a shop, you could take the cut sheet and have someone with tools do the cutting and then assemble yourself.
May 1, 201411 yr Author So there wouldn't even be the 1.25cf airspace for the sub? I'm not worried about extremely loud bass. Would the sub suffer from enclosure being to small or what? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-0-FT-3-TUNED-32Hz-SLOT-VENTED-CUSTOM-MDF-BOX-ENCLOSURE-for-10-INCH-SUBWOOFER-/400334074816?pt=US_Speaker_Sub_Enclosures&hash=item5d35c533c0 Looking at this as well. May 1, 201411 yr the enclosure is more important than the sub itself. you need to confirm the enclosure spec required for the sub and the actually specs of the enclosures advertised by these sellers match. pretty sure 2 cu ft net for your sub is too big. though i didn't see spec on their website. high qualityhttp://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/ported-single-10-subwoofer-enclosure.html this could be an option, if they're on the ssa store i assume the seller is decent enough. just need to confirm the actual specs of the enclosure http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/slot-ported-single-10-inch-subwoofer-enclousre/
