I've moved my forum to http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/

Calculator can be found here: http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box.asp

I'm working on a new improved calc. It currently only does response curves: http://www.subwoofertools.com/boxprogram.asp

www.accelerator-pedal.com should be returning my custom 404 page directing you to subwoofertools. It's not. Stupid GoDaddy hosting.

pinned for now...

i tend to like labrynth ports due to the fact they can be used as braces...adn in all honesty, require the same amount of wood as an "L" port...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I just used the calc, may use the design in my next project since it has taken forever for Jamie to finish my fiberglass enclosure.

How about something that doesnt do stupid laberynth ports all the time

You could raise your tuning frequency, but then you don't get what you want. The other option is to reduce xmax, but that means chuffing.

Just about every single enclosure i use uses a laberynth port

Which i am not very fond of

Please unpin...

Denim as already aware; this info is updated here:

:WELCOME:

lol, i pinned that one too..hehe

but for now, i'll leave this one pinned in here as well. we are currently working on a new Knowledge Center in which all of this will be located and organized.

the only disadvantage in a labrynth port is the complete 180* bend. otherwise, jsut as easy to use/build as an "L" port. elias, you just being picky...lol..

I was playing with the ceramic magnet Tang Band 8 in a "max flat" box and got a labrynth with no fewer than 6 panels in it. That woofer wants a small box and low tuning. 60% of the box was port. I wanted to use it for my PC subwoofer, but decided on something smaller.

It will do an L-shape and even a straight port, but it depends on the application. If it doesn't fit with a straight port or an L-port, it makes a labrynth.

Sorry to bring up an old topic... but where did this website go?

I really enjoyed the ported box calculator....

Looks like someone forgot to pay the bill..

Edit: I take that back.. he's got the domain registered till may of '09.
