Posted June 10, 201411 yr so this kid on SMD claims that i should be ok with an 80 amp stockalternator running off an audio pipe 2000 together with a rockford 250.4 as it is i have major volt drop, have a yellow top under the hood andan xs power xp950 I'm looking forward into buying a singer alt 180 amps but trying to see if it'll be good even after i purchase a largeramp which I'm thinking about the soundqubed q1 3500 let me know what you guys think, should i stick to the 180 amps and stillbe good in the future? (still gonna purchase a second xp950 in the near future)
June 10, 201411 yr Im not a kid and i suggested the 180 singer EDIT- or you can go buy the 800$ dc alts everyone else suggested. Remember YOU said the singer alt, not me. If your not wired low, and your seeing that big of a drop, then something else is up Nice to meet you again. Edited June 10, 201411 yr by Kylar96

June 10, 201411 yr also.. i tried to HELP you KyLar96, on 10 Jun 2014 - 3:18 PM, said:for what your running there, you dont even need a HO alt.... just me. Did you read his 11 other posts that he only has bank (edit, i mean MONEY here) for the alt he mentioned? Do you see him running a audio pipe amp? June 11, 201411 yr Do Not EVER bring shit from a different forum, especially THAT shit hole over here.
June 11, 201411 yr Figures that 7th grade pre-pubescent activity stems from there. Just to clear things up. There is basically ZERO good information on SMD so take everything there as a nuthugger dipshit comment and move on.
June 11, 201411 yr It appears to me as if your questions have been answered. You need more battery and alt.
June 11, 201411 yr Buy the biggest alt you can afford. Thats about the best advice for ANYONE looking to buy one.
June 15, 201411 yr Buy the biggest alt you can afford. Thats about the best advice for ANYONE looking to buy one. Fully agree. electrical is the backbone of your build, without it, it will fail.Go for the biggest alternator you can afford/can get for your car, and then slowly shove as many g31s in your car as you can until your voltage is where you want.
June 15, 201411 yr He runs 2 "small" amplifiers. And he already has two batteries.I don't know if he did the big3, but I can't understand why he has major voltage drops. There must be a problem somewhere.I'm not an expert at all. Of course running the biggest alternator you can will always be a good thing. Especially if you run a 3500 watts amplifier. You will need more or bigger batteries too. Good luck.
June 15, 201411 yr Theres something wrong with your build... you shouldnt have major voltage drop with an 80 amp alt w/ 2 batts. your probably pulling like 200 amps with both amplifiers lol. What kind of wire are you using?
