Would it be a good idea to cool your coils down to less than 0*C before your SPL run. One of the ways i have thought about would be to spraythe duster cans upside down int the pole vent. Only problem i can think of is if you got alot on the spider.

Lower temperature means lower resistance which means more power. :)

I have no idea if it would work or be feasable (sp?). But the best way IMHO would be to run liquid nitrogen cooling smiliar to the watercooling systems on highly overclocked computers that use liquid Nitrogen. Use some pumps, hoses, couple cooling blocks and youd be set to go. But as I said earlier, I have no fricking clue if it would work, be a good idea or anything. I can't really see much gain at all doing it either, but then I don't know a whole lot either.

I got the idea from skimming through a DIYaudio.com thread about using Superconductors to have massively long coils with extremely low resistance and inductance. Keeping copper at 80k isnt feasable in the car but cooling the coils would be. I was just wondering, NG you dont have to be a jakcalope about everything.

I trust Noah's opinion ... if it was a remotely good idea, he would have let you know ;)

He be loud, and just buggin' ya :D

I do understand what you're trying to get at with the cooling thing though - I've wondered about it before.

Indeed my man, indeed. Way ahead of him...

If it would feabily work, or show a noticeable benefit... it would have already been put in place by world champs ;)...

Thought came to my mind years ago, but in a different style than the "canned air" idea... lawl...

i mentioined canned air because when im bored i get a platic pill bottle, fill it with liquid "air" and dump it into a small glass of water....freezes almost instantly and the water is cold enough to cause frost bite, takes a WHILE to thaw.

cheap, easily accesable, and almost as good as liquid nitrogen.
