July 23, 201411 yr Author Working on a new box design. Using Torres for the most part. Looking for anyone who has a bit more experience with box building for high excursion subs to chime in and give any tweaks or suggestions. I'm wanting to try sub/port up for this box to make sure I have enough port/volume. Measurement I have are depth: 18", width: 39.5", and height 19". I want to tune at 35 hz. Torres is giving me 4.07 cubic foot at ~34.8hz with 82.5in^2 of port area. This is with a second baffle, .75" wood thickness, no bracing (calculated for), port being 5"x16.5, and port length of 35" (physical length of 28.5"). This SOUNDS good to me, is there anywhere I could improve? These are pretty much my max. dimensions. I may be able to get an inch or two more height if needed.
