I mean exact wiring for this...i feel like it wasnt done correctly bc we are incorporating the crossovers into the mix.

Im not sure why, but my guys that helped me out with they system incorporated the crossovers into the system. I thought the 360 could be used instead of crossovers.

If someone has some time and would really like to help a fellow car audio fanatic out, how would you wire this setup?  I would love to see a diagram drawn out!

No way to wire that front un-stage and make it work.

What 4 tweets and 6.5s?  What mounting locations?  We are going to have to simplify it.  Sounds like whomever installed it all was really lost.

They wired crossovers after a dsp?

They wired crossovers after a dsp?

He doesn't have all identical mids and tweeters so they'd have to....although not sure how they'd do a full pass range on the pair for the components with only an 800.4 to run them.

Either way it is a complete mess and there is no way to wire what he has in a way that makes any sense.  Whomever sold that to him and did the install should be crucified.

quick question as well...

360 outputs are

Front

Rear

Sub

Center

Wouldnt it make sense to have

Channel 1&2 (tweeters) go into "front"

Channel 3&4 (mids) go into "Rear"

Sub Amp, use RCA splitter 2-->1 go into "sub" on 360

He only has 4 mids and 4 tweets, which consist of 2 sets of components. You are confused Sean

I'll switch this around at lunch, thanks

How are the rcas currently connected?

  • Author

I'd have to go look. It's very odd to me. All 4 channels connected via y splitters which go into front L&R on 360. Sub rca from sub amp to rear L&R on 360

  • Author

Switched out the rcas as I mentioned above and already sounds way better than it did. At lunch I'll hook back up to the 360 with my laptop.

Glad we could get some things figured out for you, anymore questions just ask.

Im assuming its the gains on the 360 but sub was way over powering the mids, so i cranked the gains down. Im still getting some engine wine and floor sound,, not sure how to fix it. Next weekend we will be getting rid of the xovers, maybe that will fix it idk

How is your radio and amps grounded? Is paint sanded where grounds are located? Are they good grounds? I always add an 8-12 guage wire from my headunits ground wire to a piece of metal behind my dash, always clears any unwanted noises. I never just ground it to the radios wiring harness from the vehicle. I usually add the ground wire from the vehicles wiring harness and the ground from the radios wiring harness into one end of a butt connector and the bigger wire on the other end attach to the dash. Hope that makes sense, may help you instead of removing crossovers. But with equipment you have going active will be better than passive.

Another thing is to try to check your S800/4 grounds, may have them to high as well causing unwanted floor noise. Determine what speakers the wine is coming from, play mids by themselves and then tweets.

Hey now, that isn't how it looked above.  In particular if the shop used the included crossovers as well.

If you HAVE to run all what you have.  Run the L Mids, L Tweets, R Mids, R Tweets each on their own channel and wire + cross it over appropriately on the 360.  If you wanted to be safe you could measure the stock passives to find their slope and cross points to use as a starting point.  I am sure they are terrible, but it would at least give you a safe starting point for the active crossovers.  It is rather easy to blow things when you have complete control of everything otherwise without some more instructional help.

Great info here. Ya idk for some reason yesterday and today there has been wayy more engine and floor noise. Rewiring everything next weekend. so we will set the appropriate grounds as you mentioned above

My fault, the first sentence in the second paragraph should read, check your S800/4 gains (not grounds).

800 gains are okay i think. i might need to turn tweets down a bit tho...once we rewire everything ill check back!
