So I have my normal starting bat up front and I'm going to put an additional battery in the rear of the car near the amps. My question is should i run a fuse near the main bat to the 2nd bat as well as in between the second bat and the amp. All in all I don't think an additional fuse would hurt anything and if they power wire ever chaffed through I think I'd be really glad I had a fuse there.

any help

its deff good insurance to run a fuse close to your second battery now between amp and bat.....thats up to you and no they wont hurt anything....

ok , this is a major problem i see with kids who add a second batt and dont understand how electricity works

for your car to be safe you need 2 fuses on your wire going from your starting batt to the rear batt....

put a fuse within 18inches of the starting batt ( on the 0/4 awg wire thats going to your amp now )

put a fuse withing 18 inches on the same wire 18inches or less near the rear batt

hope that makes sense

What he said. 2 fuses on the wire between the two batts. Both are a source of current and a short between them will short them both. You need to be able to cut the current from both sources.

Nope not there either.

The 4.100 has its own and the Sledgehammer will have the only inline fuse period.

Dont want em and i dont need them.
