June 11, 200619 yr Author awww, my dad never took me shooting..I feel deprived, thanks alot..lol, just kiddinI vote the kimber, since he was smilinkinda looks like he doesnt know how to hold the 1st onehe's like this old skool 6 shootin piece of, well u get the point, lolonthe 6 shooter, i actually got him just after the shot...we were shooting old fired shotgun cases....he got 6 outa 10...i got 7..hehewheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 12, 200619 yr Author and a few pics of the firearms themselves...family photo...s&w sigma .40ve up close and personal...loaded with 165gr FMJs&w model 17 in .22lr. this gun is circa ~1960. it's worth more then the sigma and almost as much as the kimber. if it was a 5 screw, about $3k. but it's a 3 screw..so around $500. i stil have the original box and wood grips. ok, lol, enough rambling..lol...oh, have been shooting 36gr JHP in her...just thought i'd drop that 411...my father's day gift, a kimber custom II. it's currently loaded with 230gr FMJ. and this thing will shoot sub 2" groups at combat distance (~ 7 yards) straight outa the box..woowhoooo!! that's a seven round grouping too! maybe not match quality, but for putting two in the chest, yeah, it'll do.the kimber is more accurate then the sigma, which will do ~3.5" groups. now i haven't messed with sights or other ammo. and this is offhand, not bench. but i'd wager the kimber wins in anycase. but the sigma is good enough for the wife to put two in the center mass!wow, i'm rambling..lol...next purchase...s&w 629 in 4" with magna port. that's .44magnum POWer baby..hehethen the boy gets a 9mm. jsut not for sure what one yet.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 12, 200619 yr Author nice ear plugsthank you. wouldn't shoot without them...and what better place to keep them then right next tot he object of needed use??wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 12, 200619 yr Author In your ears <--- has no clue about gunswell, yeah.. i guess in the ears is a better place when actually firing... but for storage...hehe...it's a great hobby, and like car audio, once you get started, it's easy to run out of money and you'll always want to improve upon it.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 12, 200619 yr Author Sweetness! I prefer muffs to plugs.muffs= too bulky nad the plugs are good for a 32db decrease. tehy don't protect against impact type noises, but then again, at a 32db reduction, they don't need too in this case.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 12, 200619 yr I just cannot wait to learn to shoot pistols.........we don't usually touch them in the Army unless ur an officer...........Of which i am not.JordanBTW kid looks like a chip off the old block.
June 13, 200619 yr Author again, they are alot like car audio. only brand importance is of more concern. i mean, something horrible can really happen with some cheap ass built firearm. better to spend a bit of money then to lose an eye or worse.it's a great stress relief as well.....kewl to watch things blow up. pumpkins make great targets...lol...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
