What are your guys thoughts on the ID Max 12'. What do you think of the company. and is the sub more for big bass or sound quality? Would 500 watts of JL be enough. Found it for $358 on http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSIDMAX12V3D4.

It should sound great but for that price I'd rather have a RL-P and use the rest to get supplies to build a box for it... That ID would sound great but I believe the RL-P would sound better off 500 watts.

500 RMS just wont be enough IMO. I was giving mine 800 sealed

500w is fine, i ran one off a Mc500d for awhile and it got plenty loud, even sealed.

I believe that SD is making room for new ID (or dropping it)...

...SD seems to be dropping the good stuff; and, adding the crap brands.

I kinda want some ID8's; but, they are out. All they have left is ID12's and IDMAX 10's & 12's.

i called ID to see what the deal was on SD clearing out their products. i didn't really get a clear answer. but from my understanding, ID is moving facilities, so that could have something to do with it. i do know that there is NOT a v.4 of the entry-level ID lineup due to be released any time soon (even though it may seem like there will be since a lot of the IDs are gone). so take advantage of the sale NOW.

btw, wakeside is authorized too so if and when SD raises their prices, hit up wakeside!
