Posted July 4, 200619 yr Just out of sheer curiousity, has anyone ever polished their RL-p's cone to a mirror finish? It seems like a pain in the butt, but would look rather interesting when completed. But I don't know if I'll like the look of a bigass concave mirror sitting in my trunk... I've been toying with the idea for quite some time now, just never had the balls to do it. They don't make the plain logo-less RL-p anymore, and I don't want to fubar mine up.
July 4, 200619 yr You can remove the logo with acetone. Doesnt discolour the cone at all and you will have a ghost "S"
July 4, 200619 yr Author Is there anything that I can use to remove the paint without damaging the aluminum?
July 4, 200619 yr Its anodized, i dont think it comes off.You can get a recone from TC Sounds, they are polished aluminum. But IMO, not worth it for just a cone colour
July 5, 200619 yr Oven cleaner will take off anodized layer, but I am sure it will reek havoc on other parts. If you had the cone out alone it would work though. I stripped a chitty brown chassis for an RC car that way, then just hit it with some tripoli and a buffer and she was polished.
