Posted July 8, 200619 yr Is it ok to run the voice coils of the woofer to each channel on a 2 channel amp for a 2ohmx2 dvc woofer. I have my amp bridged. I have the woofer wired in parallel. but my amp is not 1 ohm stable, and a friend told me to do this. will there be any problems if i do this. please help
July 8, 200619 yr just run your VC's in series and bridge the amp to that 4ohm load and you'll be fine. You should be fine running one coil to each channel if you have a dedicated subwoofer out on your HU though (i'm guessing)
July 8, 200619 yr Be sure to feed the amp with the same signal on both rca's (either use left or right with a "Y" cable).
July 8, 200619 yr No need to sum anything. It's best to, but you can run it in stereo with one coil per channel with no adverse effects.
