right now i have a mag 15 in 3.7@27 hz box off 1000 rms and i'm getting a kicker zx1500.1.I was wondering if 2 15's getting 1500 rms in a sealed box(2.5 per driver) will be a lot louder? noticeably? just thinking about a new set up since i have a kicker zx1500.1 coming. But if i won't notice much difference i may just sell the kicker amp.

The 2 15's won't be noticeably louder than what you currently have...until you get below 30 Hz, then the two 15's will romp all over the single vented 15.

Which is pretty much useless beacuse most music doesnt play below 30hz anyways.

Just stick with what you have and save your money

so i really wouldn't hear a difference between one mag 15 getting 1000 rms in a 3.7cf@27 hz box and two mag 15's getting 750 rms each(1500 rms) in a sealed box thats 5 cf(2.5 per). That's an extra 500 rms. How about two mag 12's in 2.5 cf@28 per driver sh aring 1500 rms. I now have a brand new kicker 1500.1 that i got an amazing deal on and i have a warranty so i would really rather use this amp then my crossfire vr1000d. Any other suggestions? thanks for all help in advanced

YOu may hear a slight difference with the dual 12 setup as far as loudness goes.  But, ponder this;  is it really worth the money, time, and effort to redo the entire system?

i agree, but the fact that i know i have a 1500 watt amp, makes me kind of want to put it in. But you know this is an addicting habit.

i'm changing my current set up. I have one Mag 15 off 1000 rms in a 3.7cf@27hz ported box. I have around 1500 rms at 2 ohms to work with. Which will get louder to the ear, 2 15's sharing 1500 rms in a 5 cf sealed box (2.5 per driver with 2 pounds of polyfill each chamber) or 2 12's sharing 1500 rms 4.6cf@28hz(2.3cf @ 28hz per driver). I really want to get the full potential out of this amp but also wish Ben and SI had these Mags in a dual 4ohm version. Would prefer one sub, but that won't work with the Mag and my amp. This hopefully will be my last upgrade, so which is the better set up. Only reason i'm thinking about another 15 is it'll be cheaper for me since i already have one Mag 15. Thanks for all suggestions, and sorry for a few posts lately. Just want to make the right decision, although i'm sure i'll be happy with either set up.

if you feel the need to change, I would add the second 15 if you have the space
