yep..we have one at the shop..lol..

here's a link at crutchfield

anyway, in person, this thing looks sweet. our manager is thinking of dropping it in his car for demo. what are your thoughts on this? good or bad?

we are thinking, since it can send/recieve anything bluetooth, ie: play the mp3s off your phone, display your contact list, etc...if one had a bluetooth enabled laptop, you'd never, ever need to buy cd's again...

again, thoughts?

if chris puts this in car, i'll post updates...

Looks...

The knob seems like it would be a pain after a while, break off

The screens have never looked good, to pixilated. Not refined like pioneers

i have yet to see the screen other then in pictures, but as soon as we fire it up, i'll try and snag a pic.

the knob is thick, (like mine..hehe, looks sturdy.

it's a neat piece is an ugly sort of way. lol

External EQ/Xovers FTW?

Will it answear the phone for you? That would be the only reason I would want it. OEM bluetooth like quality.

Of course I dont have a BlueTooth enabled phone so it doesnt make a lick of difference.

no onboard xovers? hmmmm....i didn't notice that..

yeah, it'll answer the phone for you. it has a built in microphone and it'll play the opposite end over you front speakers, automaticlly muting whatever you were listening too.

My boss's A6 with integrated blue tooth works pretty cool. He just sets his phone down and talks, the speaker phone is actually really clear. For me though I'd rather have a bluetooth headset on, I just feel weird talking on the speaker phone.

Most people wouldn't use the x-overs anyway :(

From a marketing stand point to the masses it makes sense.

Ahh!! I may be too late! But i just installed one of these in my friends car a while back. I hope its not too late cause I can literaly tell you anything you need to know about it.

First off, the knob is amazing. It's really easy to use and unlike my Pioneer deh-9800bt (also bluetooth enabled), you can change the volume of the headunit with ease. (Pioneer's take forever imo).

Second, the BLUETOOTH SUCKS!!! Don't get it for the bluetooth. For one thing, the mic is in the headunit, its not seperate. It still sounds fine but theres some other cons to it. For one thing, you have to connect the phone every time you get in the car (from what my friend has said and he has had it for a while now.) That's a big big no-no. I mean ppl don't have time to get their headunit to first find the phone and then have to take another 30 seconds to connect with it. Anyways from what I have seen the Bluetooth suckkkkkss!!!! :(

If your okay with the picture, then it is otherwise an okay HU. It's not too great of a headunit for the whole BT problem...But if you're cool wiht connecting t then it shoudl be nice.

If you don't have to have Sony...I would really recommend the Pioneer DEH-9800bt. It's the headunit that I currently use and have fallen in love with. The picture quality is the best I have ever seen in any headunit yet, and not only that but it comes with a nifty software where you can upload your own pics to the headunit bg. The thing has so many eq settings, as well as any other settings you would ever need to change. It's pretty hawt, and can be found for around 300 bucks now BNIB.

Hope I helped? :)

Gone, I have done quite a few of the parrot BT car kits, and they are the same way you speak about having to hook up to it, everytime you get in the vehicle, that part sucks! I wish it would automatically recognize that there is a bluetooth phone around.

Hello again Shawn! Dude, the headunit I was talking about...the DEH-9800bt...is the only HU I've seen where it recognizes it every time. I get in my car, and without touching anything..my phone goes beep...and bam...Bluetooth connected. I swear this headunit is beautiful.
