Scott, if impedance is the problem in finding a proper coil, then I wouldn't mind a dual 1 ohm coil. Thanks, Matt

Impedance isnt really the problem... its the motor dimensions. They use a VERY tight pole piece and our standard 3.000" ID coils are too tight. They slide on, but with about .003-.005" clerance per side. I am looking for a 3.018" ID coil (which is the other US standard size). Even at that, it will still be only .012-.014" per side which is tighter than the SPL version of the BTL. Seems they either used a Chinese coil with a larger ID, or they run them way too tight for a normal daily setup.

Thanks,

Scott

Oh dayummmm.. I don't want to lose out on a motor and the 40 bucks it cost me to ship it.. but I may just have to chalk this one up as a loss..

Scott, nevermind on the crossfire recone :( because now you can start working on my 15" BL's... :D

p.s. Oh and I want stickers, lots and lots of stickers. lol

  • 1 year later...

hate to dig up an old post, but did anyone ever find a coil/former to fit the older Crossfire XT15's? I have 2 of the good old XT15F series that I would like to recone.

I recently emailed Scott about getting my XT motor back, even though he's had it for almost a year and a half. lol. Hopefully he will respond within the next coming weeks whether he has it and can find a coil to recone it.

Sorry man been working a LOT of long hours at my other 'summer job'...been hell to say the least.

None the less things have changed, we still have your motor and we have a coil that will now fit it if you are interested in a recone..

Let me know, i'll be on here tonight hopefully after daylight and get things taken care of.

Thanks!

:woot: Hells yeah, I'm interested. Let me know the price on a 12" D1 recone + shipping and I'll PP it over.

I would like to get a price on (2) XT15F recones - what coil config can you get? Dual 1.4's?

Don't know how much the motor weighs off the top of my head so i can't do a 'shipped' price until tomorrow when I get in touch with Scott. 12" recone with basket and everything is $108 plus shipping.

Thanks!

Nick, did you find out how much the motor weighs? Iirc it was 42 lbs when I shipped it out.

Also, this is a pretty important question because I am moving in exactly 1 month. If I were able to send PP as of, say tomorrow, will I receive the sub within 3 weeks? Should I just wait until after I move?

Thanks man.

Your call, if it's easier for you to wait then that is best. Just so happens if a UPS claim would come into the equation if I were you I would probably wait. Granted we've only had 1 package get destroyed in a little over 2 years, but anything is possible I guess...

Your call man. I need to find the weight out, forgot when I talked to Scott earlier today.

Right on, I just don't want the sub to show up to a place I no longer reside at.. ya dig? Unless you can guarantee a 2-3 week turn around, I think I'll just wait a week or so before I move and give you the new address.

ditto for shipping quote for (1) XT15f recone to 59270

Dual 1.4's

Nick, I am most likely going with an 18".. So if you found out how much the motor weighs, then quote me for an 18" shipped to 48430.

Thanks,

Matt
