Posted February 26, 200718 yr what can i put on the crack to help it hold together for the time being, its a sligh crack, and its not really getting any bigger, but it probably will with time, i bought it for the mini cooper, and im gonna use it until i need a recone. it doesnt have any affect on performance so at the moment a recone doesnt concern me. but im wondering if theyres anything i can put on the crack to help hold it together (hopefully something that wont be too ugly either) but ill have to live with it.VJ
February 26, 200718 yr Author im guessing the dust cap, i thought that was part of the cone, i guess confused on xxx's cuase theres no "boob" dustcap...so the whole thing is the dust cap? its cracked right above the xxx logo.
February 26, 200718 yr Anything you do to fix is probably wont be very pretty. I'd reccomend getting some epoxy and filling the crack.
February 26, 200718 yr Author what you guys think this sub is worth with the crack in it, even though it doesnt affect the performance? just curious what you guys would have paid. other than that its perfect. Edited February 26, 200718 yr by pimpedout97x
February 26, 200718 yr somewhere in the low $200 range high $100 rangeish is what I'd pay if I was looking for one. If you are looking to sell I'd reccomend you post it for $240 and if you dont get hits change it to OBO.
February 26, 200718 yr Author im not gonna sell, i bought it for the cooper, its in my truck now on 1200w and its pretty loud, will be insane in the mini IMO.i paid 200 for it though. i was just seeing what you guys would have paid for it compared to what i paid. bought it off a friend locally.
February 26, 200718 yr That's a pretty decent price IMO. A cracked dust cap is strictly cosmetic minus a little bit of leaking you might get between the front and back sides of the cone. A 12" XXX will be perfect for the Mini IMO.
February 26, 200718 yr Author ya i put it in for a min, its pretty loud, it was on the back seat firing back (seats folded down)
