I recently acquired a 15 inch MTX Terminator, all I need is wiring and an amplifier but I don't know how strong of an amplifier I need because of how old the sub is. Can anyone help me out? I really don't know much about sub/amp combinations.

Looks like the newer ones only hold 200 watts rms. I personally would start at 100 watts and be careful with anymore due to its age/wear. Disclaimer im far from any type of expert. Good luck and keep us posted.

Do you know where I can find a 100-200 watt amp? By no means does it need to be fancy. It's going in the back of a 99 Jeep Cherokee sport. Can I find one for under $80?

This amp is rated at 180 watts rms which is fine, you ALWAYS start with your gain/bass boost all the way down and ONLY increase gain in small increments until getting the desired performance. Again that sub will not handle a ton of power nor abuse. BE GENTLE. To increase output I'd recommend a ported box over sealed. You need to look on magnet or investigate on google to find the exact model number of that sub so the recommend enclosures can be looked up and followed.

Done and done for less than $100 for decent amp and wires. I checked the SSA store, it didn't have anything quite as low as $80 that being said SSA is a fantastic brand/forum and we should support them when possible, that being said they do have this amp that is really good for the money if you can swing it.

Give SSA  a chance in any way you can in the future. You will NOT be disappointed.

Id be suprised if that sub needs more than 1 cubic foot ported for airspace. Again, I'm a part time idiot and could be way off but I dont think so.

Wow, that thing is a dinosaur. Nothing you would want to play outlaw bass with, but should be really nice musical !!! I'd love to hear it.

That is the ORIGINAL Terminator!  Wayne used those in the Hearse, and they need a BIG enclosure.  Email or call MTX and they will help you out.  They're one of the best companies to deal with and they know their shit.

I am running one of the MVPA's in my car on a pair of 10's and it does really well.  It does like some input voltage, but nothing extreme as long as you aren't using a wimpy phone output as the sole input.
