Posted March 4, 200718 yr Hey guys,Since I will be recieving my 15" SSD + flatwind pretty soon, I figured I would make an enclosure this weekend. It is 35x15.5x21, 3.5 Cuft tuned to 33hz. It was a 2 day, 5 total hour job, but not bad for a 16 year old making my first ported box.And now the pics:Day 1Various angles of box all put together, screwed, and cauked.http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/593/sub...erbox063oi0.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2065/su...erbox065jl1.jpg http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/754/sub...erbox064bt2.jpg http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/4791/su...erbox067qi5.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8339/su...erbox067zj5.jpgDay 2CarpetingSides: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/2859/su...erbox071xg3.jpg Wrapping: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7664/su...erbox070bj3.jpg Carpeting done, starting to trim off extra: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/1644/su...erbox072pc9.jpg Sub+port cut out: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7127/su...erbox074rb6.jpg Final product, in the back of the ride: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7313/su...erbox069iz6.jpg If you have any questions, feel free to ask.KO
March 4, 200718 yr Author An a8002v for now, I know its not the best amp, but it will work untill I get enough money to upgrade, probly in the summer.
March 4, 200718 yr Very nice box and def better that the first box I tried to designs a few years ago lol. The quality is great should be a good home for your SSD.
March 4, 200718 yr Author Yea, a nice clean box, what more can I ask for? I am very happy with it, now Scott just needs to make/ship out my sub!!!Cant wait untill I recieve it, and start bumping!
March 6, 200718 yr Author Mods, if you want to put this thread under the SSD enclosure recomendations, it would be fine, and hopefully stop people from posting so many "what enclosure to build" threads.KO Edited March 6, 200718 yr by Wanger35
March 6, 200718 yr Hey wanger, where did you get the plans for that box? Can you email them to me? I have a 15" SSD in the mail. Edited March 6, 200718 yr by jgelp
March 7, 200718 yr Author Yea sure no problem, but if you gave me your e-mail it may help .Also what do you want the outer dimmensions to be? And do you know if you want it to be loud, (tuned high), or lower, deep, to rattle stuff (tuned low).Let me know, and I will definately help you out.

The demensions of your box are fine for my car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and tuned at or around 33hz would be great. Thanks for your help.
March 9, 200718 yr Author Yea, the outer dimmensions on the sub are 15.75 or something like that, and there is at least 16.5 on every side, so you should be fine. My hole is right up against the port, about 1/8 of an inch off of it, so make sure you leave yourself enough room when you make the sub cut out. Here are the plans, I also sent them to your e-mail.http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0Happy Building!KO Edited March 9, 200718 yr by Wanger35
March 9, 200718 yr Well, link is not working...just use the one I sent to your e-mail.The link is working for me.Thanks for the help. I'll post pics when I start the build.
March 10, 200718 yr Is it ok that the sub cut out is that close to the port? Should I build mine 4.0 cuft @ 33hz to give the sub more room? Check these plans out:4.0cuft at 33hz plans
March 10, 200718 yr Author As long as its not touching the port it is fine.If you have the space, why not use it. I was limited, I wanted to keep it under the windowline (15), and not too wide, so I could fit my hockey goalie bag in the back still.
