Posted November 21, 20177 yr Hi , I need your help and advice for my first music system that I want to get it installed on my 2015 Toyota Corolla L. I am looking for simple music system with a decent quality , and good clarity sound. I will buy everything that I need on Black Friday to save myself money. My budget is around $750 to $800 and I want to keep my original stereo. a) I am looking for 4 speakers (2 in the front, 2 in the back) 1 amplifier, and 1 subwoofer. Do I need a 4 or 5 channel amplifier in my case? b) should the speakers in the back be more powerful than the front speakers since they are farther than driver seat? c) if the brand of the amplifier is different than the subwoofer or the speaker brand, would that be a problem? or is it better if they are all the same brand? I heard that some companies make great amplifiers while other brands make good speakers. d) what brand of speaker, amplifier and subwoofer do you recommend among the following brands “ Kicker, Pioneer, Kenwood, JBL, Rockford Fosgate” ? I only wrote these 5 brands because it seems like they have the best deals for black friday, but i am open for any suggestion. thank you all for sharing your thoughts with me, and assisting me. Cheers

My budget is around $750 to $800 and I want to keep my original stereo. a) I am looking for 4 speakers (2 in the front, 2 in the back) 1 amplifier, and 1 subwoofer. Do I need a 4 or 5 channel amplifier in my case? A five channel would simplify install, as you need 5 channels total. A 4 channel and a 1 channel mono amp would work also. This would leave flexibility if you have a desire to upgrade the sub amp only, later down the road. About the only reason to go that route over a 5 channel, excluding which fits the budget the day you are buying. Pick your speakers and then match the amp(s) to the speakers via RMS ratings. b) should the speakers in the back be more powerful than the front speakers since they are farther than driver seat? Set the rear level on the amp lower and you will be set. c) if the brand of the amplifier is different than the subwoofer or the speaker brand, would that be a problem? or is it better if they are all the same brand? I heard that some companies make great amplifiers while other brands make good speakers. No differance. Speakers and amps are dumb, they do what we tell them. d) what brand of speaker, amplifier and subwoofer do you recommend among the following brands “ Kicker, Pioneer, Kenwood, JBL, Rockford Fosgate” ? I only wrote these 5 brands because it seems like they have the best deals for black friday, but i am open for any suggestion. Any of those brands are tailored to the sound good to the masses, and should fit your needs. Beyond that its personal preference. Most will tell you to find a place to listen to them side by side if possible, such as an electronics store. If you have experiences with some speakers, that you can give us your opinion on that would help. Then people will be able to give you more precise recommendations, based on your tastes. There is no magic speaker, each will just sound different and slightly better or worst subjectively. thank you all for sharing your thoughts with me, and assisting me. Cheers
November 21, 20177 yr I would avoid spending any money on the rears and instead focus on the fronts. Rears are pointless in a car.
