Posted March 21, 200718 yr Well, I'm pretty set on buying a new clarion HU. It doesn't have the most flexible crossover built-in so I will need an electronic crossover to go with it. The main feature I need is having the ability to do a 3-way(high,mid,(possible future midbass), sub) setup with the mids lowpassed at 2+ khz frequency. My midbass amp(Eclipse XA2000) only goes up to 500hz so I need to find something. I'm willing to go up to $500 but hopefully I can save a few bucks. Right now, I'm lookin at the digital units but they are pricy. Any other cheaper solutions to this? I'm looking at audiocontrol but having a hard time finding online dealers(not many local and pricy) and Memphis but can't find details on their units.

March 21, 200718 yr Author Thanks, looks nice and very affordable; will almost definitely get that. Any other options will be nice but if that's the best bet and bang for buck, I will go after it (until i can spend more on a digital unit).
March 22, 200718 yr Author Well, I can get a new clarion drz9255 off ebay for $788 shipped, refurb for $630 shipped, plus I'm guessing around $50-60 for warranty. Or I can get a new clarion dxz775usb off of sounddomain for ~$245 + external processing unit(ranging from $54-$500). The PPI looks nice but the cheapest i can find it for is $330 off of ebay and from what I read, they have some software issues. Disadvantage to the 9255 is really price, lack of bluetooth option, and lack of red buttons Advantage is ease and flexibility of setup (and good thing it has 2 aux-ins cause I'll need em). Advantage for cheaper HU is i can just upgrade the processor if I want to without spending my whole paycheck now. Tough choice actually; I'm set on clarion b/c of the price/features but for $788 I would have to take a hard look at Eclipse as well. I'm really looking for bang for buck though.
March 23, 200718 yr Author I decided to go ahead and get the 9255, thanks for the advice guys! I'll let y'all know what I think about it.
