Going to use them as subs?

Yup. Gonna run them IB in my rear deck.

Only reason I actually went for them is because I got them for a pretty great price.....$225 shipped for the pair.

IS that the same driver the original GTis were based off?

Indeed it is. Same motor, slightly different soft parts.

we want more pics!!

nice deal though..

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

What's the inductance on those like?

They look like a modernized version of the Altec Voice of the Theater woofers...Altec used them with either a 300, 500 or 800Hz horn/compression driver and they flat out jam :)

Alma had those in her truck a few years back.

I have a 1500gti in my basement, if I had another the car would get a facelift. Enjoy those, I have mine I just wish I didn't sell the other two from the original "set"

I was originally wanting to find the Gti versions...but they are hard to find in good-condition matching sets

Those team JBL guys (and girls) get all of the fun stuff.

arent those designed really for pro apps rather than car audio...just wondering cause by the looks of it they look more like sound reinforcement drivers than car subs....

could be wrong though

That's exactly what they are. They'll work just fine in the car though, just don't tell them that they're not part of a concert stack and they'll behave ;)

Wait a second, I think I missed something. Did I just read 18s in the rear deck? What weird vehicle are you driving with a back dash that big?
