August 10, 200718 yr I really hope you are driving here Looking great, that is going to be more than sweet!!
August 10, 200718 yr Author I'm driving I want to be done the front end for next Saturday, as there is a dyno day & sound off...
August 10, 200718 yr Author Picture of the kick, with NS-3 & grill installed.. and the door pod with grill placed.I need black head screws, yes.Best part is I can still use my dead pedal, and my leg is not restricted to the clutch. Also VERY comfortable to rest my leg up against the pod.
August 16, 200718 yr Author Passenger side kick panel is completed. All the wiring to the speakers is completed.Listened to the system tonight with one SLS & one Type X woofer lowpassed @ 280Hz and the NS-3s playing from 280Hz & up... WOW, is the stage height, midrange & sound ever awesome from these NS-3s... I could pass without any tweets, all that is missing is that sparkle at times, but only a trained ear could really tell. Now... to finish off the pass. door pod & wrap up the fabrication & installation of the front end.And... pics tomorrow. Was too dark by the time I got done the work to take any decent ones.
August 16, 200718 yr Personally I'd rather have an 8 and the NS-3 then a 7" driver and a tweet. The sparkle I can live without, but the midbass I cannot. Looking great!
August 16, 200718 yr Author Pictures, like promised.Passenger side kick:Driver's side pod & kick again:Tweeters... in the stock location. Pillar is going to get wrapped with grille cloth. And, the terminal blocks I use for the speaker hook ups & power/ground/remote/e-brake/foot brake for the H701/D310 combo:Wiring is a mess still, that will get cleaned up. Paid $5 for the terminal block.
August 21, 200718 yr Author Completely done the IB install for the Exodus Audio XJ15 & it is playing off of the PDX1.600... one word.WOW.Whomever says that IB installs are sloppy or not loud enough isn't installing it right or using the wrong driver, because this thing is much much much louder than any other subwoofer I have used in this car, and so accurate it makes me giggle. Best part is I can scale it back & I can't even tell the subwoofer is behind me. Using time correction, I was able to make it seem like the kick drum was behind the vocalist!Anyways... pictures? No camera at home, bro took it (and it is raining again)... so I'll get some tomorrow.
August 21, 200718 yr Get some pictures up ASAP. Glad you're digging it. About 30 minutes after I shipped mine, I regretted it. Maybe I'll get another again on Thursday....who knows?Any tracks worth mentioning in particular?
August 21, 200718 yr Author Noticed it the most playing Kos- The Rain & Mirror in The Sky.I'm just downloading those links you gave me, and going to play some more.
August 21, 200718 yr Author More pics!Front end install... a little better views:And the trunk... Exodus Audio XJ15 IB & the PDX1.600 and PDX4.100Need to make a false floor out of 3/8 ply to cover the spare & cover the underside of the deck, baffle & deadener with matching carpet.
August 22, 200718 yr Whomever says that IB installs are sloppy or not loud enough isn't installing it rightSWEET!Whomever said that, please slap them as they obviously have no idea what they are doing.
August 22, 200718 yr Author Yep... just barely! lolThe change tray on the driver's side on the other hand needs to have the door open.
August 26, 200718 yr Author Did a shits & giggles run on the TL today. 133.6 @ 32Hz on the dash on 300-350W. LOL
