Posted April 10, 200718 yr Let's talk about subwoofers in general, which way will it perform the best, subs facing upwards(the roof) or facing towards the rear end?just wondering since i ve seen a lot of people doing upwards around here.. unless i just dont notice anyone that points their subs towards the rear end..
April 10, 200718 yr Toward the rear in an SUV. If your doing a ported enclosure you can face the subs up and port toward the rear.
April 10, 200718 yr i got an suv i built my box to where the sub is on the same side as the port and i have tried up but i think when you face it to the back its louder... but your roof will flex a lot more if you face it up..
April 10, 200718 yr subs facing passenger side, ports back...so says mr "gameoverstreeta", hehe..... daily, i prefer sub up, ports back, crx style. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
April 10, 200718 yr Admin For competition do above ^^, for daily I face rear and port rear in my explorer.
April 10, 200718 yr Admin if it is a sealed box, then what?Sealed I face rear for better low end response.
April 25, 200718 yr I have a 95' Explorer and I have found out that the subs faced up with the port back is the only way to go. I use to run port and subs both faced back but have found out it works much better how I have it now.
April 27, 200718 yr How about in a Scion tC? Would that be the same as a SUV even though the glass is angled? Edited April 27, 200718 yr by illiniguy
