Posted May 4, 200718 yr Well, finally got the two Mach 5 15's in my 98 F150 ext cab today. They are in 6cuft tuned at 30 hz. First off, the woofers are just plain sexy. So simple, not over the top, and solid. After I got them installed I played a few bass test tracks and couldn't believe how clean they were... Now i've never owned a super expensive sq woofer by anymeans, but these compared to my 12 w3s from a little while back blow them away in the sq department. As for the myth of no sq with ported, throw that out the window with this woofer. It is a litte boomy at some notes, but not enough to distract, just enough to notice if you are looking for it. Now, as for being loud.. they can do that to. I was very suprised at how well they hit the higher notes, like 50hz especially since they are ported, but 50hz HURTS. These subs play ever note so clear, i didn't even think that was possible. At 20hz, it doesn't get just real loud, but it surely shakes my truck to death which I guess what 20hz is supposed to do to the ears, right? can't hear it but can't feel that low of a frequency? I'm not getting just stupid flex on my truck any where, but I've always felt the f150's were BUILT FORD TOUGH. I get a little bit of rear window flex, but near non-existent on the roof. This system is definently louder with windows down/doors open, which all of mine have been the same way in the past.Overall, I can say that this is one of the best 214 dollars I have ever spent. Best bang for the buck right now. Working with denim at SSA is a dream. If you are going to get some Mach 5s and you are in the states you have to get hooked up from SSA (i mean, literally because they are the only ones that carry them here )I am going to build another box when I get a chance and see what happens around 8 - 9 cubes. Why not, I got the spaceBox pics:http://www.caraudio.com/forum/attachment.p...mp;d=1177454033http://www.caraudio.com/forum/attachment.p...mp;d=1177636964http://www.caraudio.com/forum/attachment.p...mp;d=1177636992Install Pics:http://www.caraudio.com/forum/attachment.p...mp;d=1178242843http://www.caraudio.com/forum/attachment.p...mp;d=1178242856http://www.caraudio.com/forum/attachment.p...mp;d=1178242866
May 4, 200718 yr Looks good man. Glad to see someone feels the same way I do. I'm gonna do 2 MAW-15s sealed though.I just can't get over how clean they are.How much power are you feeding them? And keep us posted on everything man. A vid would be nice too!
May 4, 200718 yr Author Oh yea, as for power... a Directed 1500d... so about 650 a woofer. I'll get a vid when I can figure out someone that has a cam or something, there is one on my digital camera, but no sound (which doesn't make that much difference) but it is HORRIBLE quality w/ .mov
May 4, 200718 yr Oh yea, I know what you mean. The digital cams do video, but it looks horrible. We have similar taste. I went with a 1000D. A lil more within my budget.Should be here soon Edited May 4, 200718 yr by mpimm
May 4, 200718 yr Admin Glad you like the subs, there has not been an un happy customer with them yet. I am happy we got your order straightened out in a hurry. Give the subs some time to break in, they should get the low lows a little better.
