as for the third magnet

This simply adds more clearance in use for the HiXmCoil. If you intend on using the sub for an SPL application Fi suggest that you get the 3rd slug with No cooling options and only the pole chamfer.

I would recommend you look at the BL rather then the BTL with only 1500 watts per sub. You will be much more satisfied with your cash. Get 2 BL's with cooling and flatwind coil and you should be golden!
