Ok heres the deal. I have a 04 Crown Vic, front stage only no rear fill and the rear speakers removed from the deck. I have been seriously looking into getting a pair of Q 15s for the last few months but a few things have come up with the family that has side tracked me but Im on point now. I have a pair of Orion 1200d for power but heres my question. I see the new options for the Qs and was considering selling my Orions and picking up a Hifonics XX Thor. I also considered a pair of fully loaded BL 15s with the power I have but I just dont know. I am coming from a background of mainly sealed boxes and this would be my first in my own install. ( I have assisted and listen to several ported boxes and enjoy the additional output!)

Really, I would like to do a pair of 15 BTLs and two XX Thors, but I dont have the money right now for the electrical upgrade I would need. What Im really asking is would it be worth the effort to get the Thor and feed the Qs the extra 300w? Or should I look into the BLs?

Music wise, I listen to everything but I like my low end which is one of the reasons I leaned more toward the Qs than the BLs.

Any help is greatly apperciated thanks guys!!!!

FI FTW!

If you go with the thors I would opt for the BP option on the "Q"s......

This is actually up to you Tez....

things i would consider...

The "Q"s have the ability to go sealed and sound good, so if your ported venture turn sour you can fall back on your tried and true sealed enclosure (unless you spend money to have someone make a ported enclosure for you)...

the BL's Qts is low so you won't get the output potential of the BL in a sealed enclosure, so you will need to really have a good ported enclosure...

Both subs can hit low and loud.... so that shouldn't be an issue with either sub...

The BL has the ability and upgrade to handle more wattage should you want to upgrade...

The "Q"s have the ability to give you the best SQ for your system...

Honestly they both will rock it's really a matter of the install you intend to do that should make your final decision
