Posted May 13, 200718 yr ok so ive been doing some research for a new sub the past couple weeks..ive come to the conclusion that i want to get an Fi sub and another later down the linei just wanted a little more info on the BL series subs cuz i havent heard too much about themive heard alot about the Q's and i figured by the looks of it that the BL's are a higher line of subs compared to the Q'sim basically looking for whatever will pound the hardestit will be hooked up to a RF T10001BD ampand installed in a 07 ext cab tacomai listen to rap and r&bany pros/cons of Q vs BL?im looking to buy a 15" in about a monthand planning to get another in a couple of monthsalong with a bigger ampthe sub i choose will have all the best options included when i order itany info on the BL is appreciated..thanks guys
May 13, 200718 yr The Q and Bl are basically two variations on the same level of woofer. (like mitsubishi eclipse and eagle talon). The Q is made to be as linear as possible and some just amazing, it does get loud and low too. The Bl is made for those who don't necessarily want to take the step to the btl level, can handle more power than the Q, but at 1000 watts, I am willing to guess the Q will outperform the bl in output due to the stiffer suspension on the Bl.SO my recommendation would be to get the Q.

If you like lower bass notes IMO you should go with a Q, if you like higher hertz and more spl, then you should go with the BL

But besides that I am satisfied with my BL!

May 14, 200718 yr SPL output is dependent on the install and enclosure as well.... earthman is right the BP option allows the SSD to handle about 1100 watts (maybe more if you get the flatwind)..... Q maxes out stock around 1300 so the BP should give you up to around 1500....
