Posted May 15, 200718 yr ok I have my decision narrowed down to a few choices, I am looking for LSQ more sq though, these will be ported and on a sundown SAZ-1500D amp, I will use my entire trunk if possible(15.7cubes) I dont have any electrical upgrades and think the only ones i'll need with 1500wrms will be a new battery and the big 3, but yeah the choices are either 2 RD sonance 15"s, or 2 RD classic 15"s, or a SI new MAG 15"s, also if you think of any other sugesstions feel free to write them down, thank you
May 15, 200718 yr Admin I honestly don't feel that anything SJA builds has the clarity of the MAG. But then again I have not hears the "sonance".I say get the MAG, for sure, talk to Nick directly, he has a few 15's left. He goes by Electrodynamic on here.
May 15, 200718 yr i've not heard anything from rd, but i've had the pleasure of listening to the mag. and that thing helps to define the term LSQ. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
May 15, 200718 yr The only RD product I've heard so far is the Alpha, and that wasn't on the same level as the Mag...not on the same price level either.I'd be curious to hear RD's higher end drivers.
May 15, 200718 yr Author cuz I've been talking to keving and ben from lowhz and I've gotten 2 different suggestions, ben says go with the mag and kevin says go with something from rd they both say the other product is good and both are suggesting that I go with a sonance or a classic because is cheaper, lol my dream system costs 3200 bucks, 2 new 15" mags powered by 2 saz1500D amps lol that would be nice and I would get that if I didnt need to spend 1000 on alts.
May 15, 200718 yr Personally, I wouldn't listen to anything they have to say, regardless of the product they're pushing.
May 15, 200718 yr Author also the reason kevin preffers the alpha is because the new mags release date is unknown
May 15, 200718 yr Admin You consider the Fi Q? That would be a great choice, cheaper then both and you can buy direct for cheaper and talk directly to the Fi guys.
May 15, 200718 yr You can compare anything to a product that's not available yet and it'd look better
May 15, 200718 yr Author yeah I have thought of that, but I always here about them breaking or getting fried, so idk, and no there not cheaper then the sonance at all or the classic, the Q is 279 and the sonance is like 250
May 15, 200718 yr Honestly, I'd read very carefully into failure reports before making any judgements. Was the user trying to stretch the rating of the sub past what's recommended? Do they know how to actually set things up correctly? There's a lot of people on the forums with Fi products and a lot of people that shouldn't be around amplifiers...add those two together and you're left with a lot of melted tinsel leads and mechanical issues.
May 16, 200718 yr Admin Talk to anyone of the Fi guys, believe me it will be worth the few extra dollars. You can customize the Q for your needs, can RD say that?
