Posted May 31, 200718 yr Well i got my MJ-18 4ohm last week or so and i had the day off today so i made a box for it, 26 in. wide, 23in. high, 18in. deep, box volume 4.52 (ft3), tuned to 25 hz, 3?4 M.D.F. and no stuffing. Well, when i used an amp that i had pushing a C.V. 15in., just a plain 300 watt 4ohm plate amp and it did dent sound good at all, put the amp back to the 15 and it sounded great. Hooked up the 18 to a amp in my truck and still sounded like crap. What to do What to do? I put a few pics up in the subs area. Edited May 31, 200718 yr by turtles1118

Just asking as I'm not familiar with what guys are tuning the MJ's to for HT. "Most" DIY HT subs are usually tuned under 20Hz it seems...

Added some stuffing to it and rounded the port a little more and wa la, sounds great even with a 7 year old cheap ass 300 watt plate amp. but thanks to all for the help and hope to talk soon.turtles1118 Edited June 1, 200718 yr by turtles1118
