which draws more current...both would be run @ 1 ohm

can the orion take .5 daily or does it need modding?

its for the 12mt in the mini...i have no room for an extra battery either, nor do i want that much more weigh if i did have the room.

if yoru talking the older orion 2500d with the 2500wrms rating, not the new peak numbers, it'll run .5 daily with little issues or modding. mine does.

i'll also say the orion is more efficient. i've played with both, and the orion at .5 ohm seemed to have a similiar draw to the mojo at 1 ohm.

both are good amps, but h2h, i think i'd go orion. might be down a bit in power, but by running at .5, you'll make up for it.

btw, these is just seat of the pants opinion. i haven't measured either or, just going by what the truck and it's voltmeter did when playing with both.

i had mine orion at .5 daily never cut off, however, if voltage gets to low it will, but comes right back on. After i got my new alt i had no worries.

it was the wcc version, but same amp just take the plate off, lol

i think im gonna trade some batts i have for the Orion...

only problem is im running stock electical, and will be for a while (mini cooper) and i have no room for extra batts if i wanted to...

Under normal loads and listening, the Orion is not bad at all. But open it up and give it some clean signal, it is a different beast.

im gonna have to see if Iraggi or someone can make an alt for the mini...it is VERY small and hard to get to, and there no room for a bigger alt... i wonder if hes ever made a mini cooper alt...ive never heard of an spl mini comp vehicle lol...the xxx moved hella air on like 1600w....i wanna see what ill meter with an mt and 2500w....its alot louder than in a regular car...

my silverado alternator is only a 105, with a yellow top, i had no issues with the orion at .5ohm. some drop yes, but nothing severe. about the same as the mojo at 1 ohm.

memphis will probably pull more current...personally ive never seen nor used the memphis 2500 but ive had 2 of the 4000's and they will each pull 500A+ so im sure the memphis 2500 can pull alot as well
