Posted June 4, 200718 yr placed an order this weekend for a 12" BL that will be running off of a hifonics 1606. i've drawn out plans for a box thats 2.33@33hz w/33 sq. in. of port area (haha). will the hifonics be enough to push the sub? i can go bigger on the box to let it use the power a bit more efficiently, but whats your guys' opinions on this? anyone w/experience as to exactly how much power the hifonics is capable of putting out?
June 4, 200718 yr I wouldn't trust that amp with doing rated power, but it shouldn't be too far off...
June 4, 200718 yr Author think itll be enough to get the sub moving well? im making a transition from a bx1000d and 15" ava to the 12" bl so im hoping the output diff wont be too drastic
June 6, 200718 yr Should make for a solid setup. What options did you go with for the sub? Do we need to start a HI rollcall thread? Seems to be quite a few here... but at this point, I think there are more Hawaiians in Las Vegas than on HI anymore. Simply getting too expensive for anyone that isnt a millionaire to live there...Thanks,Scott
June 6, 200718 yr Author yes, hilo as in hawaii. im on the mainland for school right now though. Scotts right, you go to vegas and you see hawaii people everywhere! especially downtown. its very true that some places in hawaii are so expensive that only millionaires can live there...kinda sad. everyones moving to vegas and the pacific northwest.anyway scott, i emailed you asking about if i could get the spkr before the 13th. this still possible? thanks for the input guys Edited June 6, 200718 yr by hiloracerboy84
June 6, 200718 yr Oh... you are one of the 3 people lately that I get bounced emails from. Ok... yes, you will have it on Monday I believe, but definitely before the 13th.HUGE Hawaiian population here, as well as a growing Guamanian one too. My sister lives in Honolulu and many of her friends are moving to Vegas due to cost. Not sure why Vegas... VERY different type of hot here, but they seem to love it. Thanks,Scott
June 6, 200718 yr Author ok that sounds good. oh and to answer your other question, i just got the pole chamfer option.
June 7, 200718 yr Yeah damn man I am really surprised to see so many HI people here LOL...Yes actually Scott funny thing is MY sister lives in Vegas LOL....she moved cause it is too expensive to live ANYWHERE in HI...I used to be a police officer here.... but we were getting paid only 35K a year and it wasn't cutting it...I got shot at once at a shopping mall and i called it quits with being only 2 years on the force...I almost packed my family and moved to vegas too but then my dad was retiring from A/C Sheet metal Union and got me in before he retired so in a year when i am done with apprenticeship i will be making 70K a year and that is considered middle class here in HI....I am sure Hiloracer can attest to the fact that here in HI everyone lives with their parents if they want to stay here until they get a high paying job....Wow what a really small forum.Scott (hiloracer sorry for the quick hijack) But my cousin will be heading over for vacation in vegas..Do you hold like a small tour of the shop ? He would like to know if he could come look at the shop and how speakers are made ? And possibly get a listen to a demo car (bass race car or something with crazy boom) Edited June 7, 200718 yr by theabunai
June 7, 200718 yr Oh how true been thinking of making the move to vegas also from Waipahu, HI. Iam going up to vegas in july to see what the jobs and housing are like and then talk with the wifey. I do own my own house but just the cost of living is high and I work in the construction trade so like $40k a year but it's still hard to live here. sorry for the thread jack..Aloha Myron
