June 5, 200718 yr Author ooh you're fastk nevermind it wasnt the spider monkey it was actually the tinsel leadsthey're still connected but the wire is kinda dark near the terminalsis they're a quick fix for this? Edited June 5, 200718 yr by lakaiguy

June 5, 200718 yr What's an ohmagem? Sounds like something that happens when you leave food out too long..."Dude, there's some ohmagem on my sandwich!"Burnt tinsel leads is a sign that there's too much current going to the woofer.

June 5, 200718 yr Author k well the subwoofer is a 10" infinity 1030w (fantastic SQ sub) and the amp was an MTX282i had the gain on the amp almost maxed out so that might explain the heavy current thingthe tinsel lead isnt exactly hanging by a thread or two but it is pretty wiggilyhow the F do you fix that, the woofer is still perfectly good right except for the tinsel thing?

June 8, 200718 yr Have the spider monkey test what ohm that sub is showing on each coil with your DMM (assuming it's dvc-ask the monkey). If it's reading right, just get out the soldering gun and work around the mokey poop till you get that thing soldered back on right.Still good-- who knows? See if it works after soldering. Theres a chance it might be. Edited June 8, 200718 yr by tejcurrent
