I think i'm going to be purchasing a Q12. I have reservations that I have the space for an adequete box though.

I have a 2002 BMW 325i. Here are a few pics of the way my backseat/trunk is (borrowed from a bimmer forum):

and i was hoping to have it look something like this when it was complete:

As you can see the setup is geared towards a show car, but I do actually drive the car around quite a bit, so sound quality is a concern of mine. How practical would something like that setup be for sound quality? SPL doens't matter as much for me.

Very practical.

The first few pictures look like it's infinite baffle, which would work as long as the entire trunk is sealed off well from the cabin. The third picture looks like the woofer is enclosed in a smaller box, which would work too.

Yeah, the first setup uses the whole trunk as a box, as the last picture is sealed off i believe. I think the last picture is what i would want though. Will it still sound great like that or will there not be enough space?

Can the Q runs at IB setup in the first place? If yes than how much power will it be for IB setup?

IMO it would be a stellar location for an IB install; however using one of those square output bombs would not be something I could stomach. As for the Q12 I am not sure it will fit. Is that Kicker a 12? Do you have enough space for the baffle?

Sorry guys, i'm new to the world of sub boxes. Whats an Ib setup and baffle?

Sounds like you already know what an infinite baffle setup is It's using an enclosure over 4 times the Vas of the driver, which in this case would be using the entire trunk.

The baffle is simply where the sub mounts, and seals off the trunk from the rest of the cabin.
