Posted June 11, 200718 yr I was deciding on what brand of amp to go with I have cum down to five for my setup. The amps are Directed, Planet Audio, Massive Audio, Concept, and Autotek.
June 11, 200718 yr Author Why those 5 might I ask?I am going for a budget setup. I didn't wanna jump straight to the top I just wanted to see what I could exactly get out of the setup.
June 11, 200718 yr i would also say that out of those each brand has their own godd and bad lines. which models are you looking at. also try looking into us amps m2d2 and maybe also pm denim and see what he can get for you on your budget and power needs.
June 12, 200718 yr You cannot purchase any US Amps lines beside the Xterminator line online...Budget?
June 12, 200718 yr well actually you can, they may not be authorized but you can. i was actually refering to the xt series if you pm denim i knwo he can get you a good price on them.
June 12, 200718 yr As others have alluded to here, it would be a heck of a lot more effective to give your power requirements and budget than to have us comment on amps.IMO you'd pretty much be a tool for buying any of those brands as for less/equal money you can get a FAR superior amp used.
June 12, 200718 yr The only thing Planet Audio I'd own would be one of their tubed hybrids, but it's been several years since those were in production
June 12, 200718 yr Well what will the amp(s) be powering? They will be powering 4 Fi BL 15'sI don't see how those subs fit into a budget setup...
June 12, 200718 yr why don't you list the $$ you want to spend, and ohm load of the subs so we can suggest amps a lot easier
June 12, 200718 yr Author I am looking to put at least 1kw to 1.5 to each sub. I have $1500 set aside for the subs and another $1200 set aside for batteries. I am getting an alternator built. I would say at most $1500 for an amp/amps. As I said this is a budget setup. In the future I plan to spend maybe twice as much. I plan to have it all done by september or before. It depends on how business is. Who is pm denim? If you know of any place where I might find a used dependable amp cheap let me know. I want to be cosmetically sound also. Thank you all for your help.
June 12, 200718 yr Author As for the ohm load I am not worrying about that because I can choose the voice coil for the speaker. More than likely it will be ran at either 2ohms or 1ohm
June 12, 200718 yr As for the ohm load I am not worrying about that because I can choose the voice coil for the speaker. More than likely it will be ran at either 2ohms or 1ohmA pair of Sundown 1500D's with a .5 ohm load on each or 1 ohm bridged would do fine and come in under your budget.

June 12, 200718 yr 4 kinetiks. 1 for the car three for the audio system. And how are you spending 1200 on 4? unless of course you are going with 2400's, and why again do you need four of them for 3-4kw of amplifier juice? I have run .5 ohm loads and ~2000 watts on my stock battery with a stock alt and don't ever see much voltage drop beyond 12.25 volts. I am just curious, as a fellow spl guy why you need 4 kinetiks? automatically putting you in super street for dB drag, when you realistically only need 2 batts with the upgraded alt and can spend your money else where, such as amplifiers. Another amp I would suggest buying is an American Bass 500.1 and there just so happens to be one for sale in the SSA for sale section.

June 12, 200718 yr Author More than likely I will be running from 6kw to 8kw. Once I have handled the business I will upgrade again to probably 12kw. Put it this way the only place I will be cutting corners is on the amps. Everything else will be setup so when I upgrade I won't have to replace everything to bring it up to par. I really don't know how accurate the website is but it has a calculator on there for the amount of batteries you will need. From what I have been told that even though the speakers say 1kw RMS it still can handle 1.5kw to 2kw. One guy said he had 2kw running to a Fi 15BL and it works fine.
