Posted June 14, 200718 yr First post guys, so please bear with me...I'm looking at a 12" Q for my sealed enclosure. Here's the thing, I've got an enclosure that's .88 cu.ft. I did the search and came up with what seems to be a optimum 1.2 to 1.3 cu. ft. Here's the question, how will this driver respond in the .88 sealed with 750w rms? Thanks guys.
June 14, 200718 yr With 750 watts why not look into a SSD 12 with a copper coil and stuff the box full of poly fill?
June 15, 200718 yr Author What advantages would the SSD have over the Q? What difference does the copper coil make? Are you saying I need more power? Sorry for all the noob questions, I'm still in the learning process. Thanks in advance.
June 15, 200718 yr Author Sorry, I just read the post above explaining what the copper coil does. That being said, are you recommending more power? If so, how much. I have the sub enclosure (.88 cu.ft.) and I'm trying to set up a sub/amp that will work with the given volume. I haven't decided on an amp yet. I looked at a Planet Audio RXD1000, a class D which produces 750w RMS @2 ohm. They have larger units available. Thoughts?
June 15, 200718 yr I think he is saying that the SSD will be a better fit with your amp and box. You'll need to go with a larger box if you must have the Q. .88 is pretty far away from 1.1.
June 17, 200718 yr Author Ok...So how do you guys think the SSD will perform with that volume and 750w? Anyone have a similar set-up?
