I had these made for SPL...

i have allways had subs with Heavy cones and Bigg Motors, so i was thinking if i got a sub built with a really Stiff cone that would take about 1000rms i can over power em by about 500rms each for burps without killing em and get a better SPL # :slayer:

it'll be interesting to see if your idea works bro. can't wait for updates!

LB...Have you ever run Fi subs?

have read great things about them but never seen a Fi sub go Live... was told designer from RE jumped shipp and started his own Co ???

they look impressive.

too bad the owner of wmd is a blatant liar :)

??? Wow Bro thats outta left field !!!

i dident hear that from John, someone @ a competition in Ft Worth TX was talking about Fi subs and i was just lisenning in :)

why would you think John had anything to say about Fi ?

Who makes them? I like the look of those cones...

mark, how about an 18 with one of those cones ? :D

it can be done :) Pap has an 18" MOAB with that cone for 07'

I think the ten's that are being made for me are bigger than your subs, more efficient, and will be quite damn impressive, too bad I won't be seeing them till around november, but I am not rushing the guys working on my subs as I wan't the best compromise between efficiency and power handling, as each woofer will be sitting on ~ 4000 watts rms of amp. My magnets are huge, lol. 10.1" diameter magnet on a 10" woofer.

But I am basically paying more than what a normal customer buying the same woofer except for the custom basket and cone would be paying for a 15" version of my woofer.

sorry, that came off as me trying to brag. I was just trying to make a point on your comment about heavy cones and large motors.

its cool :0

i was just wanting to try something different

Stiffer cone / less motor / more power

sence im only working with 3000watts i figure the best way to make use of the power i have is go with a sub that requires less power to get up & going. problem with that is all the off the shelf subs are either cone/motor heavy ( need too mush power ),

or just the oppisite lite cone /motor ( wont take much power )

so i spoke with John @ Pap and discussed using the stiffer cone from the new MOAB on the frame for the WMD w/ the new Motor its good for 1000rms per sub so i figure with a 3000watt amp ill be overdriving em for Burps about 500watts ea.

in the same box that did 151db with the power hungry subs, hoping my plan holds water,

shooting for a 154db :) realisticly 153 ish db
