What functionality will be using these for? Home, car, how deep do you need them to extend?

;)

but i dont know i just want some extra mid-bass out of them. probably tune them to 60-70hz or so. lmk if theres anything wrong in that tuning for my application.

Good luck.

Jason made GIGANTIC door buildouts, HUGE... they came out to .54cubes

He tried using a flared 1.5port, all the way up to a 2.5 I believe... and he got noise...

Supposedly.

I always thought it was just because of the tones he was playing...

Anyways.

Mine are sealed in ~.2cubes... and I cross them @40hz... active... and they sound great...

Don't be afraid to use a lower crossover point. Especially if you have a 3rd or 4th order slope. I have mine at 50hz and I really like it, but that is totally up to the listener.

Cut a whole in your door metal, seal the skin and mount them like you are.

Umm, are you protecting your "classic" or what is your logic? It isn't like you need that big of a hole, you just need to vent the backwave effectively out of the door so it can't intermingle with the front wave. It will sound WAY better than if you port or seal it on your first shot. My guesstimation would be that you are going to need to build your setup three or four times to come anywhere near the response as one attempt running IB. It will really be a far superior way to mount that driver in your car doors. Way easier on the build as well.
