Recommended Posts

guess ill start this log in case i run into problems or question. comments are welcome. equipment is already baught and on the way.

i think i did ok with 400 bucks to spend....

krukonceptz-(showed up today)

ground distro (sold out of fused distro so ill just use my walmart pos for now)

3 pair of 2 channel klarity cables (the cheap ones)

8 gauge blue and white (12' of each, because i may move my amp rack...) ~~~~this is the Al and Cu (KLMX) stuff that ive heard some people complain about. ill see how it works for me.

apparently the battery walmart sold me had a dead cell. not sure if that was before or after it being installed in the car. got another under warranty and it seem to be holding a charge. i hope that was the problem i was having.

Ditch the Wal-Mart battery haha

haha it was free so i think it will stay. i havent tried setting the alarm over night yet but i do believe i was originally sold a defective battery and the replacement is holding a charge just fine.

my raammat and cd player should be here today but i wont be home for afew hours.

this weekend i think ill make some new baffles for the doors. the ones i have now are alittle too ghetto...

ill get some pics up of the equipment

i also have afew questions --

would you guys recommend running power from battery to the cdplayer instead of using the factory harness?

should i do a ground to the fire wall or use the factory harness?

i got the hu wired up and everything today. tomorrow i plan on tearing everything down and running my rca's.

im really loving this clarion. if first impression were important id say its deff a winner. i wish i could compare it to something other then a low level sony i had in before. the sliding controls are very nice.

Sounds like you are progressing along nicely, any more pictures of your work? :)

And to answer your previous question, you can use the power from the harness, but in my car I have to run the 12v constant from the battery for it to work right. I would also find a new ground rather than go to the harness just to make sure its good.

i had the new hu hooked up for only a few hour and the factory ground seems ok. how ever i think i will still upgrade it after i get the amps and everything installed. i might have to get some ground wire...

anyways today i ran the rca's and took down the old amp rack.

i also adjusted the hu to get it to sit in the dash better. however i cant put the trim piece on.

ill get good pic's with a real camera tomorrow. and i think ill start deadening the doors or work on the amp rack. i might have to save the amp rack till the weekend when my dad is off. he's good with the power tools and making straight cuts haha

the way things are going i should be done by like Saturday at the latest.

```````````
starting a new side project aswell
alittle idea using my old sony hu indoors
i couldnt stick the trim piece on around the outside of my hu because of the dash trim panel. it doesnt look tobad in person.
0107092055a.jpg
back seat torn out for the most part. i cant remove it completely... for some reason there is some kind of safety wire thing that hold one piece in there...
0107091840b.jpg
rca's going down the side. i got smart and marked them...
new baffles. after looking at the doors some more i think i could get some 8s in there if they were about 4 or 4.5" deep.
i think i would leave it on, thats a pretty good amount of that soft stuff...
just to a test
if u like how it is with the stock deadening, just leave it alone
if u dont like it. i would say take the stock deadening off, put a layer of matt, then get some spray glue and try to put some of that stuff back, do u have any ensolite?
