  1. Thought it was 193.98 ;)

hahah yeah, you're right. I was recalling off of memory. I knew it was somewhere around there. What I was getting at though is that spl is doubled every 3 db, so half a bar would be around 190 db and a quarter bar would be around 187 db. It's throwing me off that you're using a map sensor, map sensors read vacuum, not pressure on all na cars. You'd have better luck with a mass air flow meter imo. I was once told by a credible source that the termlab is a modified mass air for a mustang. Don't know if that's true though....

  2. so far ive come up with is a pair of type Rrrrrs for 250

and these pioneer champion series subs Amazon.com: Pioneer TS-W3002D2 12 In. Champion Series PRO Subwoofer with 3500 Watts: Electronics

thanks for the help il look into those AQ's aswell

Don't mess with the pioneers, I've had those before they're decent but not earth shattering. Get a pair of these.... http://www.vminnovations.com/product_3203/Audiopipe_15_Inch_2000W_Subwoofer.html

The ipipe is the same as the txx-apx's and those are known to be budget beasts, hit hard take their wattage and have 3 inch voice coils...

Here are 4 audiopipe 15's with about 500 watts a piece starting to move hair. You would be running half the subs, but in a lot less space With more power..... SHOULD BE PRETTY SICK......

  3. I just traded my stroker for a new yellowtop, so I figured it's time for me to make another install. I decided to make a 4th order cut through running one 15" opti1532d. My main reason for running lanzar is because everyone I know thinks it's trash. I guess "trash" comes with a 4 inch voicecoil and 19mm xmax. I would of cut through my rear deck, but I'm not really experienced enough to keep that setup mobile in case I needed my spare tire. I cut through my rear seat, I believe I lost output compared to the deck, but this eliminated any rattling on the interior and exterior. I've already metered her, the loudest frequency is 32 hz and she does a 140.8. on the dash and a 158.5 in the port. There is a lot of air coming out the port, you can feel it in the front seats.

I didn't mean to make it peak @ 32, I was aiming for mid 30's but my newb ass got sub displacement in my ported chamber wrong. Anyway, here's the pics......

  4. If an amp does a lil over 1500 @ 12 volts, then it will get close to 2k with high voltage. If you got the money, I'd suggest the sundown 1500d. I've had fosgate amps before and never really liked them. Two of mine were literally george foreman grills. So hot you couldn't touch them. I would think the sundown would be "higher" quality.

I damn sure wouldnt say Sundown is higher quality then Rockford Fosgate, your amps getting hot is not the amps fault at all more so like user error (too low of an ohm load, sorry electrical or bad air flow around the amps among other things).

Give us a budget to work with.

dude, one of the amps was @ 4 ohms and was a 2 ohm stable amp. Amps never cut out, just got hot enough they wern't comfortable to touch. I'm not saying Rockford is bad, just the ones I've had (not bd's) were nothing special. One of them was a 500s, and that amp would get walked all over by my 500/1 if you wanted to talk about quality amps. I guess what this is coming down to is that the fosgates I had (class ab older models) Get retarded hot. BD's and newer amps probably don't.

  5. I would say go with the SAZ 50.4 and we all know that one is underrated.

Actually, nobody here knows that as it's never actually been demonstrated or proven.

don't know if it's changed over the years but older memphis amps have like .5% THD. Which is pretty terrible, don't know how much that matters though.

That's not terrible....that's well below the threshold of audibility. Which means you won't hear a any difference between .5% THD and .000001% THD.

That's why I said I don't know :) Does the thd have anything to do with the signal being more likely to clip? (just trying to learn)

  6. The local audio shop I hang out at sells memphis. Id say they are pretty reliable, (even though my memphis belle 16st1300d has broke twice) They put out rated, don't know if it's changed over the years but older memphis amps have like .5% THD. Which is pretty terrible, don't know how much that matters though. I also know from experience that a jl 250/1 @ 2 ohms was louder on a meter than a memphis PR 500 @ 2 ohms Which blew my mind, since the PR allegedly puts out 300 rms @ 2 ohms.

  7. Man,as long as the box and cut through are good, this setup will beat hard for the money invested.

Try that meter put for that price, all you got to do is test it side by side with a DMM, if it's the same then you're good to go.

  8. Buy them both and find out.

you buy them and ship em to me sorry were not all made out of money or atleast have our daddy pay for everthing some of us actually have to earn our own shit

Hello to a fellow arkansan, but please don't be rude when no one was getting smart with you. Generally speaking, two 12's own one 15 if yo got the space.

So is this thread about boobies now?

Where's the booty love? What about hispanic chicks? Discuss.....

  9. thanks, i think the its up to him now, between the 3000d and audiopipe or a no on both and send me back hunting for a better amp...

haha there isn't a better amp for the price. The cheapest amps that beat the kole in terms of power are the audiopipe 3000 (2 1500's together) or the crunch ground pounder 3000 pro. You're looking at $300-500 for those.

Here's a link to one of a million threads talkng about how good these amps are. At 15 volts and 2 ohms, two koles put out 4830 watts rms 3 seconds into the burp. If you do the math, that means one kole would of put out 2415 :) THAT IS LUDICRISLY RETARDED POWER FOR AN AMP THAT COST LESS THAN $170 SHIPPED.

    Kole Audio Q1-3000d...WOW!!!

im hoping he is up for giving the 3000d a shot... could be very interesting. and the loudest setup i've heard. not many systems around here..

i thought the 3000d would look cool if you replaced the top with some plexi, what do you think?

It would be easy to replace the bottom with plexi, but not really the top.... just how it's designed. At 2 ohms, you'd be able to put it upside down without any heating problems. You can also rip the logo off the front, then it's just bare metal fins.

  10. man i am sorry for your losss...

    Thanks, Kid.

Good new, there is progress on my amp. Long story short, the people who had to ship it from Bulgaria to USA no longer work and I couldn't get a hold with them for weeks at any number. Finally got to talk with the owner some hours ago and seems everything is good. There have been some problems with Fedex and they are working on it, and will call me ASAP.

Also want to thanks Jacob for his blazing fast email responses. The world will be such a happy place if all guys where like him. :drink40:

You're in bulgaria? Hmm have you ever heard of cvetan gashevski? I hope you get your amp soon :)

  12. found a pair of pg rsdc 12s

ill try to get him to snag these up soon and then pick out the amp (either or the koles or the audiopipe will put out enough juice @ 2ohms so ill see if he wants the longer warrenty (audiopipe), more power (3000d) or save 30 bucks (2400d).

The 2400 kole isn't a bad choice. I'd put the audiopipe above it, but If you're on a budget I don't know if it'd be worth the extra $30. This is the amp you're talking about? .

    http://www.vminnovations.com/product_2500/Kole_Audio_QX1_2400D_MONO_D_2400W_Amplifier.html

If that is it, that is also a refurb with a 90 warranty. You can tell by the "rb" in the part number. If I were you I'd get the 3000 kole, but if you got to have warranty get the audiopipe. I've owned 5 koles some for a couple of years and never had any break on me. The kole and the audiopipe will both make your buddy happy....

But, If your buddy owns the kole then goes to a sound comp, he can rewire his dual 2 ohm subs to a .5 ohm load and be considerably louder. You won't have that option with the audiopipe. It'll get hot and go into protect.

  13. for sub i would say go with a kicker L7 12". Just my 2 cents

cant seem to find a pair and stay on budget. ill keep checking some other sites.

sorry completly forgot about the $400 factor

no problem. do you know if the qx1 3000d is the same (internals and everything) as the q1?

Qx1-3000d is the exact amp I just bought 3 of from the vminnovations seller. The picture is different than the amp you will receive. The guts on one of my koles I opened actually say "A3000DB" on the board. That's the amp that pasmag tested that pushed 2240 @ 1 ohm. That amp isn't going to blow your subs as long as you are responsible with setting the gain on it. I've ran a pair of 6.5's and a single 8" before with no problem. If you are worried about your electrical system, don't. Just turn the amp down.

Here's my sub suggestion for you. These subs, are cheaper and they have more cone area too, which is always a plus. I think they are basically sold out of the PG'S :(

Hifonics BRZ12SQD4 12-in Square Car Subwoofer / Brutus Sub Woofer

My friend ran 2 L7 12's on a kole, and that shit easily outpounded 90% of local systems. I think the brutus subs are pretty comparable to l7 12's. If I recall correctly "pornstar" of team maxxsonics ran brutus squares for his bassrace vehicle back a few years ago.
