What kind of head unit do you have? If you can check for clipping then do so. But seems like your subs are out of phase. Happened to me before

HCCA's are really bad on efficiency. I dont think he even hit that score in the port
-
Sounds good man. Keep us posted.

Wire up one sub at a time and check to see what happens. If the sub distorts how you saw it does then it may be your amp. Check each coil of each sub also to check for any weird impeadences.

If you wanna go loud maybe a blow-through ??

Rounding box edges help increase SPL?
orlando144 replied to orlando144's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
a gain at lower volume does NOT always equal a gain at full volume. Enclosure/cabin can react differently when pushed to the max. See what things gain at 1/2 volume, keep a log of them, then try the ones that helped at full volume. And it's not a waste of time if it's something you want to do whether you compete or not... I switxhed my box to my old one that peaks at 49hz and did 147.8 amd that box flexes a bit. And yeah i will try new things. I know i can get a 148 out of my system.. -
Specs on the box would help.

What are your goals? Get loud on low power? Lows? Car it will go in?
-
Is that airspace before displacments?
-
Simplest answer i could think of is... It all depends on car and equipment and the way the soundwaves travel. Which you only have control over the equipment so basically your out of luck, unless you buy another car and see if it sounds louder... 35 hz

Its mostly in the enclosure.. A w6/7 can sound bad in a poorly built enclosure. Jensen can sound great in a well built one.. Pick a sub, build a good box and you should be pleased. Crossovers and equalizers can help making SQ better too.

Kind of a dumb-ish question

What M5 said is right.. But i say dont run it.If it exceeds your electrical capabilities why run it?. It will heat up fast and wont be as efficient. I had the same question/situation.. And it didnt work out too well. Its nothing but worries.. I wouldnt run it. -

Wall looks good. Im suprised the squat wasnt that bad for so much equipment/wood. -
Tuning in the 20's is often to do because of port length and area... But the lows are amazing when tuned that low!!

Trans problems? Do any check engine lights come on?

The Mayhem wont drown out anything unless you play it to where you make it a bit too loud for your music listening level. Build a good enclosure and it can sound great on music, with the ability to get loud later on down the road if you decide to go an SPL oriented route.

Adjusting seat positions, ac vents, sun visors, etc will also give similar results, in the aspect that it'll help on the meter but you won't hear any difference. i cant stand doing all that shit.. it erks me.. i wish i had it in me to just sit some where and do it.. but i dont have the alt for it. Adjusting my seats helps me gain a tenth. What i do is play at like half volume and try all the things listed above, to see what meters most. That way when i play full tilt i can be sure im going to get highest numbers possible. -

I am going to meter my system today without the rounding then another day with the rounding. My friend competes and i asked to see if it would help him also to gain even a tenth. Just truing to learn a few tricks for when i start competing. I.m.o its good to learn. Thanks for input guys. Ill meter and see what it does. -

Not really, smoother airflow = good Air does not flow through an enclosure, it's simply excited. Sorry for not saying... I meant outside the enclosure. If the enclosure has less flat parts i would imagine airflow into the front of the cabin is reached better?
