Figured I would add a few picks of the system so far. Enclosure and amp rack will be finished with carbon fiber soon.

Testing pic upload. Geez...you would think that this would be a no-brainer for someone who works in IT!

Gonzales, eh? We should meet up, I've never actually known anyone locally that has used a Q for its intended purposes. Most of the ones I've heard were spl setups. And I think I know where you get your DD from If you know where I used to get my DD's from, then you must know a certain friend of mine that has moved back to the islands of Hawaii. I still have a bit of work left on the car (tons of Dynamat needed!), but we can definitely hook up soon. Just let me know.

Well guys...after emailing back and forth a few time with Scott, I decided to scrap the first box that I purchased because it ended up only being .75 cubic ft before displacment. Box builder suggested adding a bag of polyfill and Scott said it would work but I just couldnt see choking the life out of a beautiful Q12. After a few phone calls, a friend of 10 years who runs a local car audio shop fiberglassed a mold of my lower trunk compartment. We were able to squeeze 1.5 cubic feet sealed Much better! Everything is hooked up and all I can say is that this Q12 could possibly be the smoothest most musical SQ monster I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Much props to Nick and Scott for the first class level of customer service I recieved. PS...can someone help with details on uploading pics??? Only option I have is to link an image via URL.

Well...I am hoping to have everything hooked up in about two weeks. Currently waiting on my Kinetik and working on my amp rack. I am very anxious to hear the Q in a small sealed box. I went with high QTS and ring options. Box is 1 cube before displacement. Will post pics as soon as someone explains how or suggests best way to host and attach as a link...help?

Hello Everyone, First, I need to give a special thanks to Nick @ Fi for helping me choose my first Fi Audio Subwoofer (Q12) and making the experience one of a kind. Now on to the sub...WOW, if this thing sounds half as good as it looks I am so in for a treat. I am so impressed with the build quality and down right size of this thing. I have always used Digital Designs for subs, but with my S2000 I needed something that would work in virtually NO space so I began surfing forum after forum for an answer. Needless to say, Nick was able to fit me into a perfect sub to match my build limitations. I am currently located in LA and we are obviously missing out on the Fi experience! I have attached a few pics of my build and will post more as I progress. Pics coming soon....issues uploading images

Hello guys, New to the Fi World and need some help making the right subwoofer choice between 10" or 12" before ordering. This will be a trunk install in a Honda S2000 CR so space is a bit limited and box will need to be sealed. System Build (so far): Enclosure "Sealed" Max 1.0 cubic ft before displacement. Max mounting depth ~7.75" Power (2) Digital Designs SS1's strapped = 1200 watts clean (from a previous install) HeadUnit Kenwood KIV-BT900 4.0V pre-amp outputs Wire KnuKonceptz 1/0 awg Battery/Alt Stock for now Distribution Block SoundStream PowerPlant Front stage TBD...DLS, Focal, etc. Although I was interested in the BTL-N1, the mounting depth probably will not allow due to the new motor designs. I am a bit more on the SQ end of the spectrum so I have basically decided on the Q (open to suggestions of course!) but an email from Nick leans toward a 12" but I am concerned about the air space. Q10 specs .2-.6 and Q12 .8-1.2...I should be at ~.88 cubic ft for the Q10 and ~.84 cubic ft for the Q12 Because I have no experience with Fi and would usually go for the cone area, not sure if I would be better off on the upper end of the recommended air space range with the 10??? Help with Q options (@1200watts): High QTS is a definite Cooling? I Heat Ring? Thanks, LRou

1998 Ford Ranger 2 door, 10" Sub-woofer Enclosure?
lrou204 replied to TheBlackCracka's topic in Fi Technical
Drove a single cab Ford Ranger back in 1993 with a JL W1 10" Sub behind the seat in a box stretching across the width of the cab...needless to say, I was nearly on top of the steering wheel! Box was a simple angled truck box ported on passenger side. It definitely can be done, but you may run into a mounting "depth" issue and an uncomfortable ride -
While patiently awaiting specs on the new N1's, would it be possible to provide at least an installation depth now? Working with limited space and just trying to get a general feel for how much depth I will have to create to compensate for this new design which looks a bit deeper than the others. Nick has suggested that I wait on the N1 which seems to fit what I am looking for with their "SQishness"! Thanks, Landon
