  1. 2 q 10" or 12" ported should easily fit in that trunk of yours. Will sound amazing and get pretty loud.

If you are looking for a deal on amps to power them, than look at the sundown forum for the SAE-1000D Pre-sale and pick up two of them.

Yeah those would fit easily, but thats too expensive for me. If I get two of ANYTHING, it would ONLY be the 10'' SSD, and I could hardly swing that.

But as a single sup setup which would work best?

Here are some pics of what im working with...

As you can see, the car is tiny, lol.

I don't need much to shake the bolts out of it :P

What would you recommend for DD in that small hatchback?

Mind you, I will need to get this bumping hard. Harder then two 10'' sealed Pioneer Premiers. But that fact aside, what would sound the best, with output equal to that of JL W1 sealed or louder?

God, sorry, this is hard to ask, let me rephrase it all.

Which sub will sound the BEST, have the BEST clarity and all that.

Then, which sub would get the LOUDEST (other then the 15''s) because I know they will rape everything, lol.

  2. SSD 10 @ .66 sealed (Recommended Sealed box: .6-1 cuft)

    SSD 10 @ 1.10 ported (Recommended Ported box: .9-1.5 cuft @ 33Hz)

SSD 12 @ .88 sealed (Recommended Sealed box: .6-1 cuft)

    SSD 12 @ 1.56 ported (Recommended Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 33Hz)

    SSD 15 @ 3.75 ported (Recommended Ported box: 3-4 cuft @ 33Hz)

    Q 10 @ .66 sealed (Recommended Sealed box: .2-.6 cuft)

    Q 10 @ 1.10 ported (Recommended Ported box: .5-1.2 cuft @ 28-33Hz)

    Q 12 @ .88 sealed (Recommended Sealed box: .8-1.5 cuft)

    Q 12 @ 1.56 ported (Recommended Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 28-33Hz)

    Q 15 @ 3.75 ported (Recommended Ported box: 2.8-4 cuft @ 28-33Hz)

The sub will be getting RMS, and the sub will be going in a 2002 Civic SI hatch. I believe the 15 will be to big, however, I threw it there anyways.

This is just for daily driving.

I want the best possible quality, with the loudest possible output with that quality. Simply put I want it to sound badass no matter how loud I turn it.

  3. So, I have a newly acquired ep3 (Honda Civic SI, 2002). Audio system is completely stock.

It has a set of tweets 1'' above the dash, and two pairs of 6.5'' speakers in it.

I believe i should be getting a component set, and leave the rear stage for fill, and only get fronts.

So then I could get some nice stuff, but mind it has to be within the power range of the CS60.4.

I'm new to component sets, although, I know rainbow has some nice stuff.

I will be using the speakers with (more then likely) two of these ported

For anything you post, a link would be VERY helpful, thank you!

  4. http://cartoys.com/default.cfm/t/Car_Audio...rs/o/Subwoofers

Well, as you all might but probably wont know, I have to go to cartoys to get a decent setup. Im getting 4'' in the front, 5 1'4 in the rear, and I want a sub.

Now, I want to get all in one thing, so I dont have to bother to upgrade for a while.

Hypothedicly, saying I were too, what do you think I should get. I have a rear deck, and in that deck I have a med kit. I can take that out and get a rear deck cover, so thats like a vent for the sound. So eitehr I sink an 8'' in the deck, or I open it up, and get something in the trunk.

Odds are good I will go with the trunk idea, then gettin on in the back deck.

So, subs here that will sound good (spl) and get loud. I want two 12'' in a sealed. Well, that was what I was thinking. But maybe just a filler sub for some bass, and get a much better set up when the car is actually mine.

So just ideas, on what could sound good, with 4'' and 5 1/4'' speakers.

Im going to power the speakers off the HU for a while (till I get a better sub) so i dont know, just something to think about..

  5. The one I was looking at (9856) doesnt have a remote and well, thats pretty much it. Also, the display kind of sucked.

I have been saying ill get new speakers, amp sub, kick panels, etc when I actually own the car. But im only doing the HU once. And it has to be done right.

    http://cartoys.com/default.cfm/t/Car_Audio...reo/o/InDash_CD

Thats the list I have to choose from. What is a good one? I was thinking Alpines, but I dont know, it looks like there are some other good ones.

I will NOT be amping any speakers yet. So for the first few months ill be using the power straight frm the HU. That means it has to have good power.

Has to have a remote, and have 'loudness' for a sub. I think thats what contols the sub.

    Opinions please :D

  6. Hows it sound with the 8's in the deck?

And I dont know exactly what im doing. I plan on kick panels, but that might not happen. So I gotta plan on 6.5's in the back, with 4'' in the front. And I want the music to blend, so..

    Edit-

And.. I did plan (with Elderados help) that I am just going to get the four 4'' Focals and the Alpine HU and do the sub at a later time by myself, so I get exactly what i want (not what dad or cartoys thinks is best)

    So yeah..

  7. About 47''

    Conclustion:

I do what I planned on before. I put the sub in the back, the only different think I want to do, is take out the med kit box, and get a rear deck cover for the hole that would show. That way there is a vent from the trunk to the cab.

    What do you all think?

  8. Oops, i forgot pics!

Damn, I think its too dark now, ill try though.

Also, maybe just get another sub, and put them in a bandpass? I think bandpass is kind of cool, as well as it protects the subs nicely.

Ill go work on those pics.

  9. Okay, Elderado told me that in my car, i have a gas tank between the trunk and the back seat. I actually think that the tank wall is my trunk wall.

Anyways, Odds are good that I cant get wire back through any cracks there.. So, where do I put it? <pics tomorrow when its daylight>

So, I was thinking maybe right behind the drivers seat in a nice sealed box with some plexy glass over the top so it doesnt get stepped on. Either that *not behind the passenger seat becaues its always moved* or I can stick it in the rear deck.

Like, I could be able to drop it inbetween the two rear speakers? But I would need to check the space between the deck and the gas tank. Als find out if it would support a 10 or 12 inch. I dont even think I could get a 12'' behind myseat. Guess we will find out tomorrow wont we.

Just, ideas please. I understand if I dont get any replies till I get some pics up.

  10. Lol they need a wash, but nah im keeping them. Im only keeping them, because the seats just get stupid hot in our weather. Like so hot its almost unbearable to sit on. The covers releive that.

Although, they do need a wash, pretty badly might I add, lol
