  1. Well another update!! Closing in on 5 years and all is good! I beat these subs all day long and love them! Truck is starting to get old so it's time to shop for a new truck now..... I think I am going to put my amp in my pontoon boat and do a single 15" install on the boat!! Thanks again Fi
  2. UPDATE: Well it has been 2 years now and the subs still pound!! the carpet on the box is starting to look a little raged... time to redo it I guess! I am very happy with these subs, they still sound awesome - deep bass and very clear. Thanks again FI I will definately purchase again for my next project.
  3. Please tell me this is a warranty issue...? It happened last night noticed one sub quit, kind of looks like the wire was to short, there are no rips in the speaker just a broke wire? this is a Q 10.
  4. I love my FI system, these 2 tens are just stupid loud....(for me anyways!!) my dash flexes my steering wheel moves around the outside body panels flex. And they play VERY LOW as well, i cant describe how good they sound but maybe this will help, my wife has a 12" MTX 5500 in her car and dont even want to listen to it because the bass sounds funny/strange after hearing music with FI, the MTX wont play nearly as low, i never knew what i was missing! as far as the cost the Q's were standard price no upgrades on mine (and they are taking 1500 watts each all day long!) a good amp will run around $500-600 i got mine from ebay, the seat lift kit was $150 google LMI high rider kit, and the box - install i did myself, i just fabed it up in the truck while i was making it, i kept each sub in a .5 cf chamber after displacements (as per Nick!!) i also kept 2" from seat bottom to top of box so i can play it full tilt with the seat down, also you need to leave around an inch on the bottom of the speaker for the cooling hole (if you look at the bottom of my box you will see the square cap i used to get more room) I have recently upgraded my stock 5x7's as well you will not be able to hear them when the subs are broke in and the bass is up! If you check out F150online.com look into the speakers and subwoofers section of the forum a lot of people have been squeezing 12's into our truck, but you loose the room for PS2, and your seat wont fold up and down.

is this normal for a Q

Nick i have set them pretty much the way you just described, when i first installed they would only take a little more than 1/2 gain i am now up to 3/4 gain. The bass boost is at zero. I do go wide open with the volume though, I set my mids and highs on a cross over wide open, then bring in the sub to the loudest/clearest sounding bass... Just making sure it was normal to be able to give them more power, they dont seem hurt at all they sound awesome, loud low and clear! and with the gain up to 3/4 they really sound off. theabunai - thanks for the video link it would be nice to see, but that price i think i would rather have a spare Q.

is this normal for a Q

i have 2 10" Q's sealed, when i installed them i set the amp, after a few days i noticed they could take more (with out hearing a pop sound) so i adjusted the amp higher, i have done this twice now........ just want to make sure this is normal.

i think i uderstand now, straped/bridged i need 4 ohms to make 2 on the amps? so i would need to just run 1 amp per sub at 1 ohm correct?

    SAE-1000D Pre-Order Open

k thanks for all the input, I just bought 2 of them! looking forward to hearing these 10" Q's pound! I do have a question though, my Q's are d2, so would i run 1 amp 1 sub at 1 ohm, or strap them and run the 2 Q's at 2 ohms?

    SAE-1000D Pre-Order Open

I am inquiring because i am seriously thinking about this pre-sale! i guess what i am looking for is Sundown going to be louder than the RF becuase it is rated at a lower voltage than the RF witch is 920-980w @ 14.4v, i dont know a whole lot about amps i just want the biggest bang for the buck.

Thanks for any replys.... educate me please.. i am running 2 10" FI Q subs in a small sealed enclosure.
  13. OK i have 2 Q 10's Dual 2, in a sealed box .6 cf chamber, what amps would you recommend? i am looking at the Kicker ZX1500.1 Thanks
  14. You get what you pay for NEVER NEVER NEVER use USPS unless you want your chit looking like that everytime, and dont think for a minute they werent droped, i could almost gaurantee a shipper while in transit picked it up with out checking the weight and watched it slide right out of his/her hands to the floor.......

    2 10" BL's 1 box 1 port?

if you are going to use 2 10" FI subs in 1 box with 1 port does the port still use 16 sq in per cf? or does it double to 32 sq in? what would be optimal for 2 10" BL's Also would 2 10" BL's @ 1500 rms each be louder than 1 10" BTL @ 3000 rms? Thank you! i am trying to get my research done before i purchase.
