    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

A guy at work is selling his 2002 BMW 530i with 110K for $7000. He's had to put some work into it, including a trans rebuild just recently. It is in good condition Seems high to me. It's an auto. On the other hand, I found someone local who has a 330i with the ZHP package (6 speed manual) for $7600. However it has 178K, but it is suuuuper clean. Other than that, there's a couple 540i with 100K+ auto for 5-6K but they don't look too clean.

They find your built esky so fascinating they are going to replace the motor for you so they can benchmark your current one for their upcoming americanized SUV?

Thank you! That makes perfect sense! What do you do if you need to bleed brakes but don't have a friend. Make friends?

That's why the line runs into the bottle under the fluid level in the bottle. I should also add that the bottle is placed higher than the bleed port to force the initial air in the tube up in the tube and not into the air system. That being said. I'll try the buddy method this next time as I'll have a buddy to help.

I bled my truck the old fashioned way and it still has a fairly mushy pedal. I put a plastic hose on the bleeder and into a water bottle with brake fluid in it. The hose is in the fluid. Open valve, pump a few times. Check to make sure the master has enough fluid, check to make sure the bottle isn't full. Repeat until fluid coming out was clean. Repeat for all 4 corners.

Automotive question. Every time I do brakes it seems that the pedal feel always end up worse. Just replaced all 4 rotors and pads on the Santa Fe. Never cracked open the fluid system. The car still has plenty of stopping power but isn't as tight as it used to be. That being said, a friend of mine needs rear brakes on his minivan. He's willing to buy me tools as payment for helping him. If there is a power bleeder that is great I would love to get one.

There is a "Monoprice" version in got on Amazon for $60. It's not Bluetooth or Wifi. The Anova Bluetooth version. ($80) requires your phone and that you log into you account to use the app.

Alright so details. (Note: I can get on SSA at work again! No more "malware" issues) 1.5" Prime NY Strip; just over 16oz Salt and Pepper just before bagging. Vacuumed Sealed in FoodSaver setup Sous Vide (Monoprice Version) at 130°F (60°C). I did 130°F because the steak has good marbling. I like the texture at around that temperature. Also, while I've gotten my wife to prefer her steaks waayyyyyy less cooked, she still prefers that medium spectrum. Finished on cast iron. Cast iron was in oven at 525°F (273°C) then put on electric burner at highest setting. I seared in Olive Oil (not EVOO, regular OO is more processed and has a higher smoke temp) and finished with some butter on a lower setting. Notes: Texture was spot on inside (hello sous vide). The outside could have been better browned and seasoned. I took it off as soon as I got the browning with the butter. In retrospect I would have left it on longer with out the butter to get some more natural browning. Actually, if it wasn't raining non-stop for the past couple of weeks I would have finished on the egg with the grate practically on top of the coals. It was a really fun first real attempt at sous vide. It couldn't be easier to use. I think I can really get the wife on board because she can pull something out of the freezer and drop it in. I'm exited to try all kinds of things. Bone in skinned chicken breast is high on the list. Some sort of smoked meat is on the list. I am currently converting a cooler I used to hate into a souse vide cooler (more pics later).

Not sure how it would work but I've highly considered smoking to the stall and then sous vide for hours at 160

Also will throw out that I used multiple trimmers before my ourchase. Stihl130 Troy Bilt 4 stroke and Echo. I was most pleased with the echo for my use.

I got the echo 225 that is a combo blower and weed whacker. The blower is meh, but is good for blowing off the porch and patio (which is all I intended to use it for) I usually putz around the perimeter of my property whacking weeds at half throttle. Starts every time. I switched to the pre mixed ethanol free, expensive as shit fuel because I use so little in a year I never run through a gallon. I also bought ~15 years worth of line because it was a cheap buy (echo brand as well).

I tend to put arbitrary constraints on vehicle horsepower and torque. For instance, a vehicle that isn't super lightweight seems ridiculous to have less than 200 horsepower. My Saturn SL2 only had a 125 horsepower but weighed less than a Lotus. I am a horsepower and torque Junkie so I will lean towards those. However if I can get more reliability and cheaper price I would probably lean that way in my current life situation.
