I have a drip brew that I use every morning. However, I realized that I always let the water warm up by circulating in itself and then use a spoon to help direct the water over the grounds. I'm essentially doing a pour over every morning. Figured I might as well upgrade to a pour over system with an electric kettle since I"m not going the espresso route any time soon.

Going to upgrade to a pour over system soon.

Pops and us have been living on the same property since August. We have a house in the front and he has a casita (small home) in the back. Not sure how much I dug into it here, but he has PSP, which is a rarer form of Parkinson's. He got to a point that he needed to enlist much more help, which basically left us with nursing home or living with us. My wife is a real estate finding extraordinaire and found this great place with the 2 houses and plenty of space. The house/property we are selling is his former place about an hour away. In order to get the current house while dad and I both owned our houses we had to get a loan from someone who's more like a private investor (2.5% over market rate). By my calculations, between insurance, electricity, taxes, etc on his former residence and interest on our new loan, as one unit, we're losing about $2K per month. (Fun fact: 2.5% difference on our 30 year loan is a $600 difference in payment, purely interest) Our house sold in a heartbeat, we used it to re-bolster our emergency fund, pay off my truck and buy a few things we've been needing/wanting and then squirrel away the rest to weather the god awful mortgage payment until his house sold. With the sell of his house, he will dump all the proceeds into the loan (he owns the other house outright) and the wifey and I will refinance under a new rate and shorter term. This will get my dad away from any payment and the W and I expect we can refinance at 5-10 years to get it knocked out ASAP.

Dad's house is under contract. We should very soon be on the 5 year track to being completely debt free!

Happy Thanksgiving guys! Hope you all are able to spend some time with family and friends!

Just to show how stupid buying a new car can be. Dad's loan is 0% interest and he's been paying $1000 every month since the loans inception. He still may barely break even selling it. Basically paid $1000 a month to lease the truck.

Similar trucks are going in the 40s with many more miles (16-35k), his has 6k. Hopefully I can get in the mid to upper 30s

We already own it its my dad's truck that he got into a wreck in. I'm trying to get an idea of how much of a hit I'll take on the sell. I phrased it the way I did to ensure maximum negativity

What kind of discount would you expect on a low mileage 2018 f150 lariat that had a large front end collision and was completely repaired by a local Ford Dealership?

Seeing got back fox as far as I know.

There like a fun go cart to me. The guy who owns it now has a 2016 GT Mustang, even owning that he said he likes the way the Miata handles. I used to drive a Saturn SL2 5 speed (125 HP and 2300lbs). I loved driving that thing. This has a bit more HP and is RWD

Alright, so I'm dying to get a fun vehicle of some kind. Was looking at scooters, then came across this... My buddy bought it and then realized having 3 vehicles at a small house, sucks. 2002 Miata SE (6 sp manual), 128K miles, always garaged kept, good soft top, good tires. He said he sell it to me for what he bought it for $3700. I drove it and the clutch is in great condition. I'm itching hard to get it. At $3700, I think I can sell it for the same price a few years down the road.

Not sure if I asked about this but tips on dishwashers? The W loves to put soiled dishes in. I've seen some with a good disposer, seems legit.

I have a fire stick that I got during prime day. I justified that I'd use it for travel. I have it plugged in at the house and many times there is something on the fire stick that works or works better than with the Roku. Overall, the Roku is the primary because that's what the wife is used to, but it would be a close match in my opinion.

On my last truck, I put in 2 weekends worth of work, hand polishing. I think it's the reason the trucks paint is still as good as it is today. I borrowed a friends random orbital for my wife's car and did it over various holidays. I now have a kid and a dad with PSP (like Parkinsons). Finding uninterrupted hours just isn't feasible at the moment. I would love to do it myself, but I don't see myself being able to put in the time to do it right.

Just need to vent. Woke up this morning and put on a shirt with a scorpion in it and got stung. Guess that's just country life. Weird thing is, I'm fairly allergic to ant bites and bee stings (not epi pen allergic, but "dude, what the heck bit you/ stung you") allergic. The scorpion pain really isn't there anymore. Okay, the real vent. Dealing with "miscommunication" from our Japanese clients. It seems the more we speak on the phone/ in person, there more miscommunication we have. So instead of talking on the phone/texting, I sent my reply via email to the client, his boss, my boss, etc... He's replying with the blame game of, you didn't answer my 2 phone calls (one was a follow up to a text that I sent the information he was looking for exactly and the other had no affect.) With these clients, it seems like they just continue to ask for what they want, even if it's not possible, then finally agree to what you say. Then after a few hours to 24 hours they make a similar request, hoping to get a different answer. If you call them out they say, "Oh, sorry. I didn't understand"

That happens to me on mobile. Sometimes I'll post it immediately delete it and then wrote my post.

Doing some Googling around town for ceramic dealers. Nem, any particular questions I should ask? I was planning on asking about the ceramic they use and try to get a feel for how long they've been doing it and how much they care about doing it right and not just being someone who does it. Before anyone gets to asking, it would be a couple thousand just to get it to Nem and back or 3000+ miles of driving.

Alright H0p, I've got a few $$$ in my pocket that Im itching to spend on a moped/scooter. Plans are to use it around work (1200 acre campus) and for general fun. Any ideas on what to buy? Electric, Ruckus, Vespa, etc....

After so much turmoil, I finally got the tune installed on the truck! Limited seat time at the moment with kiddo, but we will see! The pedal is so much more responsive now!
-
Man, this week was the worst week I've had at work since fully transferring to my new position. Even so, it still was better than many of the normal weeks I had in my last position.

Damn Nem. I'm not even kidding, when I saw the last pic on Insta I thought, why did he take a picture of his car on that last pic?

Eero now lets me visit SSA! Woot! Have to say that the mesh system has been insanely reliable and high performing.
