  1. Well my 880 finally came in and I have to say I love it. The display is definitely fancy enough for my taste and the sound quality greatly exceeds that of my 6800MP. Im not running active yet and Im impressed at the way it sounds. I cant wait to run active on this lil beauty. Just gotta wait until I can get home. Football season started and we have home games for the next 3 weekends. One day it'll be done. Thanks to everyone for all the input on the poll.

Video of my two RL-i 8's

The box is a 1.25 cu ft ported to 30Hz with some 2.5" PVC. Just playing around with box sizes and sealed vs. ported. These lil things really get to moving. Sorry the sound quality of the video isnt very good, I was using my lil sis' cheap digital camera. vid
  3. I'm sure it is. I just wanna keep it simple, and a 165 band equalizer doesnt sound too simple to me.
  4. Yea im starting to think it would be the best choice. I liked that the eclipses have nav features, but Im supposed to be getting an eclipse avn6610 from my brother in law for like 200 bucks, so i guess i wouldnt need the nav. I figure I can run both, just use an aux input from the nav to the 880. Or maybe run my rear speakers off the nav so I can still get the directions and sound from movies.
  5. Im just looking for a little info on what you guys think the best headunit out of the above choices would be. They are all capable of running active frontstage which is what im looking for. And im pretty sure I can get them at or around the same price. Any of you guys with experience with any of the choices, please post any likes/dislikes. Thanks.

$40 cooling option or just the chamfer

Hey just to let you know, my friend is selling both his BTL 18's. Look in the classifieds section and you could probably save a lil money. His userid is johnnylemoine.

    Single Cab Truck Installs

Cool thanks. You were one of the people who I was hoping would post. I saw your vehicle description and that you have a 12" SI Mag so i was kinda wondering how you went about it.
  9. Lets see em guys. I wanna know how you guys cram bass into these small areas. Post pics of your single cab setups: amps, speakers, whatever...

    Need new highs

Well its run off the HU now, i'm still lokking into amplifiers. A couple of my friends have Autotek SS100.4's and they really like them. Are those worth buying or should i save up for something better like a SAX100.4. Is the eclipse HU better when it comes to crossovers? If not, suggestions on HU would be appreciated as well.

    Need new highs

Ok, let me start by saying I don't know chit about active, passive, crossovers, etc. I'm looking to get a new highs setup. I have a set of cadence components which I guess would be passive. I have a singlecab silverado so I was kinda thinking about losing the rear speakers completely and running just the front. Im guessing active would be the best way to go. What do I need to do this? I plan on getting 2 mli-65's to start and a good four-channel amp. The HU i have now is a pioneer premier DEH6800MP. From what i've read, I dont think this HU is that great when it comes to the audio settings. I'm debating on replacing the pioneer with an eclipse cd5000 but what do you guys think? The tweeters would be set up off axis unless i fiberglass a set of sails but i think they will most likely be off axis. NEED HELP. THANKS!

    2 RL-i 8's in a center console

I think we figured 1.25 ft^3 internal after port and speaker displacement. The port area is close to 20 in^2 if im not mistaken. It will be tuned to 35 Hz. Do all these parameters sound good? The only one im not sure about is the internal dimensions. Optimal car is 0.3 net per sub and im doing 0.625 per sub. Im just wondering if the bigger box will hurt their performance. Anyone with any experience with 2 of these in a box ported?
