  2. Finally listened to you all and got a cheap charger at Walmart, 6A charge maintainer, microprocessor controlled, 72W 6amp fast charge 4A medium and 2amp slow 6V/12V automatic. Hooked it up and let it sit over night. In the AM the remote unlock didnt work so I knew it wasnt charged. Looked at the charger and it said full charge. I unplugged it and tried to start it, dead. Reconnected, put back to fast charge, it started...the fan revved higher and higher then shut off. I unplugged and reset, put on slow charge, fan stayed low reve so I left it for 2 hours. Came back, said full charge, but was dead. Gonna take the cheapie back today

    IB build

That is some sweet work there. Guess we all had the same thought on that TV sitting in there. I caught crap all the time with my "little" 42" screen that sat between the Two Towers before I tore them down, they were 48"x48"x96" each LMMFAO
  4. so theres a little trick to getting completyely discharged AGMs to start taking a charge. The charger has 2 ways of shutting off, sometimes as soon as it starts charging the cooling fan gets louder and louder till it clicks and stops charging for a bit..then it kicks back in for a while and shuts off again, other times it thinks/says the battery has a full charge then you have to disconnect then reconnect until it kicks off again, process repeat. Once the battery gets a small charge then the process stops or becomes much less frequent and then it takes over a day to get over a 12V charge. So far I brought 1 battery back to life, the 2nd large 100aH is now starting to take charge...hasn't kicked off for a while. Tomorrow I will try to get the little starter battery going again.
  5. been hiding out, thanks for the welcome!
  6. pulled all three batts and brought them in, charger is on the starter batt, it kicks in for a few mins, then off for a few, I'll keep checking with the DMM...hope I'm getting somewhere!

    I tried

  8. can you leave the batterys in the car and charge them all together? Or do you have to disconnect and do them all individually? I just disconnected the rear 2 and have them charging together in case the van has a leak/draw so theyre separated from the vehicle circuit now...will try that over night.

    7Hz for 7minutes over 100dB

7Hz for 7minutes over 100dB 1000 cubic feet, 20"x18"x22" port for a 5.24Hz tuning (4) Fi IB3 18's (2) Behringer EP4000s 1 very old house with the nastiest wiring you ever saw run off an antique 15A fuse box that can't properly and fully support 1 EP4000 let alone 2 plus the rest of this 1/2 of the household.
  16. There was a video I got linked with a dude talking about his SQ comp car that had liquid cooled subs and amps and a reservoir in the back?

    Mario from brackets4u@yahoo.com

Need an alternator bracket done for more than a reasonable price? I just got mine for 1/3rd of what some of the people were asking! Nathan from Excessive Amperage suggested I contact Mario from brackets4u@yahoo.com about making a mounting bracket for my 2nd HO alt.
  18. My idea, 25Hz tapped horn using Kicker CVXs, was stolen by Kicker, by Deon screen name dB-Kicker. I didn't do any of this design work or build, it was just an idea, but an idea shared between 2 men in private messages. Since my private message turned into a very public build, I took it upon myself to do the same...share private message information. I made a comment/reply in his thread about it, he ignored it and sent me 3 PMs confirming guilt. I gave him a day to reply, then started my own thread. It was ignored, then deleted, so here you go! KW Jordan Powell Private Message 08-17-11, 10:46 PM dB-Kicker Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Stillwater Posts: 75 Re: CVX vs Solo X -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More so. We broke the building with them. Had groups of 5 and 8 and 10 people at a time standing - trying to speak, making their hair stand up, pressurizing the room with Fun Stuff. I won't post this - but between 28 and 45hz we were hitting over 140dB in room with 2.8kw. This was a BIG room. Room gain helped of course as did using the rooms constructive interference modes (corners). Most of the attendee's had never ever experienced bass that deep that loud... And this wasn't with auto cabin gain Lotta fun..... Solo X's have suspensions too stiff, and motors just a little too strong to make for happy TH tuning. They are designed for one thing - and one thing only. __________________ _________ dB
  19. Alright, it came crashing down. I give props to Lil'Mike and dB-Kicker, I never could have pulled this off so it would have always been a daydream and a wish. I started a thread or 2 on the car audio area a long time ago about building a wall with THTs, then recently SoloX 18 THs. Here's the inquery I made April 18th. This is my way of still being able to make a thread since there won't be a build log. Jordan Powell What would you do? Hey Deon, I frequently toy with ideas of what I would do different if I had the opportunity to do another van build from scratch. The one I did was my only build of that magnatude, my 1st wall, first time running multiple subs with multiple amps, first time going active. I will most likely never get to do any of these, but what would you find to be most impressive for a good SQ good SPL vehicle though not out to take 1st place trophies in either category? These will never happen, just an "if I hit the Lotto, what would you think would be more fun?" 6 SoloX 18's, 3 on the bottom, 3 in the middle, slot port on top, 25Hz tuning. 12 2500.1s 2 per Solo. 3 THTs wide... the big Tuba HTs with 3 Dayton 15's or similar. (How does the CompVX work out in those?) Then I'd only need one, possible 2 amps... single alt not multiple. Or, could those house wreckers be modified to fit in the van? One or two? Same 11Hz knee! I dont care that 99.9% off music doesnt reach below 30Hz Finally, a tapped horn designed for the CVXs, how ever many woud be most optimal, with about a 25Hz knee. Just food for thought for my day dreams. I am happy with what i ended up with, but not blown away by it. Initially my van was to be 110 cubic feet tuned to 15Hz but it almost imploded so i had to build a rear wall, raising the tuning to 25Hz. Since I cut the airspace by more than half and went up almost 1/2 an octave in tuning the IB3s just couldnt stand up to the pressure. The subs I have now seem much better for it, but I think one of my amps was blown before I swapped subs. Being tuned to 23Hz with gobbs of power on tap, dones of displacement, and more than double the airspace most people run for similar drivers I still am not pleased with the amount of output I get from 20Hz-30Hz vs what i get above 30Hz.... though 148dB @ 25Hz isn't anything to sneeze at. I want the sub 30Hz material to be louder than above, but I am guessing I do mid 50's from 30Hz on up.

Brainstorm Daydream... RIP! 25Hz tapped horn for van

You know youre KW when... When Fi tries to move it's IB3's to Blue Print Audio because of you and Kicker steals your idea for the 10th Anniversary 9-11 tribute demo vehicle.
