    sounddeadening front doors

In my case, I did deadener on both sides of the big hole, facing each other. Works quite well, but can be a challenge to install. But easier than welding something in place (for me, anyways).

    New BTL's.....Exclusive pics tonite :D

I'm not (yet) a Fi customer, but I think this appears to be a bit of fanboy-ism at play. Let's be honest and fair; Yes, Scott appears to have a very full workload. One can certainly excuse him for being too busy to respond to the flood of emails he receives daily. However, this does not excuse him for having the processes in place to handle sales and customer service responsibilities. By all accounts, he makes some very successful products and has enough OEM business to keep his companies suitably staffed with personnel. There's no reason not to hire someone, at least part-time, to manage the administrative tasks that he's too busy for. Even if it's just collating incoming requests, organizing them for later review by Scott, and sending off a confirmation to the customer. Just my $0.02.
  9. The Sundown Audio SAX-100.2 sounds like a perfect fit. 400W at 4ohms bridged. There was a recent sale on them for $200, but that expired on April 20. Email the guys over at SSA, they can give you their best quote. I also have a SAX-100.2 that might be going up for sale once I install my SAZ-1500D.

    THE BIG 3

I've got the 1/0 that will be going in soon, but the more I read the forums the more I wonder if my other parts are inadequate. I believe the OEM alternator is 80amp, and the battery is whatever came in there when I bought it used last year. Certainly my first step will be the 1/0 installation (and BIG 3), but how can I determine if any other steps are necessary? -fp

what do u think of this system

I missed the part where you were looking for a Pioneer with active crossovers. I've still got my Pioneer DEH-P5900iB for sale with the XM Radio module. Both are in very good shape with the original packaging. PM me if you're interested.
  13. So I've been listening for leaks in my new sealed box and browsing through stuff that I haven't heard in a while. A song that I've heard countless times before, Dread Rock (Paul Oakenfold, Matrix soundtrack) literally made me jump out of my seat when it hit a certain note that I've never heard before. I've had a small sealed enclosure with my single RL-i8, but it never hit sounds like this. I guess it really proves that it's all about the box... although I'm sure adding another RL-i8 (and lowering the impedance to 4ohms in the process) didn't hurt. Obviously, there are SPL setups that make the listener almost lose control of their bodily functions. I'm more interested in scenarios where you were surprised to hear a new singer, instrument, or frequency for the first time. -fp

    2002 Toyota 4Runner

Started re-routing the speaker wire to the tweeters, then realized I never got around to installing deadener in the driver's side door. Afterwards, I fixed the wiring and took a few pics. I don't think I've shown off the new HU since I installed it. I love the user interface but the sound is not quite there yet. Can't wait to get the EQL this week. Pics of the kick panel at the end.

    Replacing 2 BTL 12's with 2 lvl 5 15's

Perhaps your employee needs a box building lesson. Yes, I'm sure his employee knows more about subwoofers and enclosures than say... Steve Meade. When will you ever learn, Sean?

    2002 Toyota 4Runner

I've got a bunch of chit to do on the 4Runner. Jacob shipped me the new SAZ-1500D this week. I got the Kicker PKD1 kit with 1/0 for the amp. I need to run the speaker wires correctly for the new tweeter placement in the kicks. I picked up some carpet and spray adhesive yesterday to finish off the sub box. And EmporerJJ1 shipped me an EQL that I should have by Tuesday. As always, I'll try to grab some pics along the way.

Actually, it's very simple. I just took a hole saw and drilled through. Make sure to either do it above the tabs (on the back side) or centered between them. I actually had to bow the panel with my arm a bit while I screwed on the mounting nut. But it fits, just barely. Need pics? Please and thank you. Hopefully I can do it when I remount my speakers with the brackets your sending me. Sorry, I meant to get those out to you on Thursday. Went to the shipping place and realized I'd forgotten your address. Had to run out to VA on Friday to our colocation facility, never had a chance. I promise those will get out on Monday. Pics coming tonight. -fp

    Sports

Like to play: softball, tennis, golf, volleyball, foosball (is that a sport?) Like to watch... Pro Football: Broncos (AFC), Redskins (NFC) Pro Baseball: Atlanta Braves... when I enjoyed baseball, not so much anymore. I miss Maddux, Smoltzie, Glavine and Avery/Smith/Neagle. Pro Basketball: San Antonio Spurs. How can you not enjoy and appreciate watching the greatest _fundamental_ player since Oscar Robertson? College Football: Georgia Tech (I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech and a helluva engineer... ) College Basketball: Anyone from the ACC (except former Big East) P.S. AFAIK, Ted Turner hasn't owned the Braves or TBS in years.

Work... what ya do and for who?

If I can make a suggestion, dump the mom/pop PC-level (A+ certification) type work and bury yourself in stuff like UNIX (Linux/Solaris/BSD) and TCP/IP networking. It doesn't have the headaches and lost hours of PC support, you can earn a ton of money, and it's a load of fun. I bought my first computer in 1998 and started learning Linux almost immediately. By the end of the next year, I had a job working for a telco making $30k (big whup). In six months (admittedly, at the height of the dot-com era), I doubled my salary at the next job. Mainly due to my passion for computing and my hours spent learning it at home, I survived and thrived through the lean years. Most of my peers make well into the six-figure range now, and I expect that to continue as the price of online storage decreases and the internet continues to evolve as "the platform" for all things computer-related. Of course, what I've managed isn't common. You must have a passion for it, but it sounds like you do. The sky is the limit if you love your work and have a thirst for knowledge and challenges. I do consulting work on my own time as well, but I've found that only server and networking stuff is worth my time. Businesses tend to value your work and time much more than the grandma or dad next door ever will. I hope this hasn't come off as bragging or pomp, it isn't meant to be. I have a fondness for others with the same passion for their work that I have. If I see an opportunity to steer them in a good direction, hopefully I can give some sage advice and some of it sticks. Trust me, you don't have to be smart to do what I do. I ain't.

Yup, just got mine as well. Packaging is a little awkward, but I think that's from the manufacturer. Good deal.
